The Rockets not giving up PJ Tucker is insane on the surface but maybe this a chemistry and style of play issue. Adding someone that just did this seems like a risk and shows that they aren't willing to keep problems in house. Also, isn't the reason why Jimmy wanted to leave Chicago is due to Hoiberg wanting to spread the floor more and less ISO PnR plays? That's exactly what he'd be walking to in Houston.

Tucker is really tight with Harden, CP3 and Melo. Definitely a chemistry issue.


As for the second point, the Rockets played lots of iso last year because so many teams switch the PnR now. People think that the Rockets gave up PnR, which is not true, they would still love to do it, but because of the constant switching it just becomes easier to hunt match ups on the switch.

So if you look at it from that stand point, no he would be a perfect fit because they will just screen to get the switch and then Iso or screen, get switch and swing pass then shoot/drive/iso/rescreen/dho

true. but I would imagine butler defense would be a lot more valuable than whatever pj tucker can provide. Hes bigger, stronger, and faster plus can get his so it'd be a upgrade. Gordon is a good 6th man but hes pretty much plays like harden lite on that team.

Tucker is one of the best defensive players in the league tho and how much can jimmy really provide offensively sharing the ball with cp3 harden and melo?
