the Pels were getting Dragic, Scola, Kevin Martin & someone else

Dragic >>> Gordon
Get out of here with these trash takes. Dragic at the time was a late 2nd-round pick averaging 7 and 2. Gordon was a #7 pick averaging 22 and 4. This isn't even a comparison. The Rockets didn't even resign Dragic after that season was over, they just let him go and he signed with the Suns for 3 years/$22 million. Gordon meanwhile, was still on his cheap rookie deal and when he did sign went for 4 years/$60 million. Even Aminu was more highly regarded than Dragic at the time of the deal.

the clippers haul was horrible in hindsight
Three lottery picks + Eric Gordon >>>>>>>> raw Dragic and ready-to-retire Odom :mjlol:

tPels likely would have made playoffs
Yup, they would have made the playoffs with a badly declining Odom and Scola as two of their top players, meaning they weren't gonna get a lottery pick AND weren't getting better either. Imagine them building for the future around Dragic and Kevin Martin with no draft picks.

the trade was vetoed bc Dan Gilbert & Mark Cuban b*tched to Stern saying the Lakers were getting younger, shedding salary & getting the best player in the deal
Why even post in the thread if you're going to outright deny what Jeannie herself says in the OP? :stopitslime:

If kobe went ring chasing like lebron forming super teams he would have 8 rings

Its embarrassing to play for so many teams and win like lebron
Kobe got drafted to a team with Shaq and two other All Stars on it and got Phil Jackson his fourth season. He had no reason to go anywhere.

I really believe that if he didn’t die that Kobe would’ve brought the Lakers especially when you consider that the Buss family is cash poor. Very interesting to see what happens moving forward
This ain't the Wolves or Cavs. If the Lakers went for sale it would be a price tag of $4B.

Kobe only spent three years without an elite big, was under contract that entire time, and still demanded a trade. :mjlol:

Gasol was Khris Middleton status before Kob...an elite playmaker would've extended Kobe's career

Miami & GS shifted the landscape of PFs

Lakers realized the league was heading toward non-traditional lineups and would've been well positioned to thrive in that environment with CP0
