Thank god for Stern :blessed:

Dell Demps gave us a hint he was a bum early on with this whack ass trade :hhh:

Instead of being in 8-10 seed purgatory with the trade it helped us tank enough to get AD :lawd:

Which we then proceeded to waste and he ended up in LA and helped them win a title so end of the day everyone's happy...I guess:francis:

Did you not watch the clip at all? That's not what she said at all. :dahell:

Stern could have gave it the go ahead, but he succumbed to the pressure of the other owners crying saying they didn't have a chance because they could see what was coming. Sounds like he was concerned about the optics of that happening involving a team the league owned :ehh:

You could have flipped what you got back for other picks and still tanked

And we won't be happy till we get Zion

That literally had nothing to do with it whatsoever by Jeannie's own words. She said the New Orleans GM never even had authority to make the trade and the other teams wanted the chance to make their pitch for CP3. There wasn't a word about CP3-Kobe being too much.

Kobe/CP3/Dwight was going to be "too" much, only for the Heat, Warriors and now Nets to be created :deadmanny:
Heatles had been together over a year when this happened. :usure:

So instead the Pels accepted trash? I forgot the Heat were already together that year, don't know how after their flop in the finals. Must be because of the lockout:bryan:

Btw Bron really got two shortened season rings? :picard:

They got a lottery pick, 23yo Eric Gordon (who was better than anyone in the Lakers deal), the #8 pick in the previous draft (Aminu), and the chance to tank for a top pick.

That's >>>> a declining Odom and 3 league-average players who wouldn't be able to elevate the Clips to anything but would keep them from tanking for a pick too.

No offense to Jeannie Buss, but this is the first time I've seen her in an interview and she doesnt come off as the smartest tool in the toolbox.

Finished the podcast earlier:

1. Didn’t know the HBO series in development about the Showtime Lakers era isn’t working with the Buss family at all...so that’s a little disappointing in the event they don’t do it well

2. Think Jeannie said they’re working on a docuseries or maybe on the Lakers starting with when her father bought them

3. I think a well-done movie about Jeannie’s life would be really interesting...she’s done and seen so much since she was 16
I’m here for that docuseries too. I knew Magic always wanted to play for the Pistons :to: but I never knew publicly requested a trade.

How different things would be. May not even got HIV :hubie:

I really believe that if he didn’t die that Kobe would’ve brought the Lakers especially when you consider that the Buss family is cash poor. Very interesting to see what happens moving forward
