I respect the trash talk but Spurs Family still got faith.
LA got Lebron and AD carrying old vets.
Spurs are .500 with DeRozan and a bunch of pups.

Lakers flying around on helicopters but pretty soon they gonna be stuck on the 5.
The highway? Nah

She's talked about this before. She put a slightly different spin on it this time. I recall her saying it was horrible timing due to the fact that everyone was crying about small markets at the time and then her brother goes and does this trade while they were all in NY ratifying the CBA.

I know CP3, Kobe, and eventually Dwight sounds amazing on paper but games aren't played on paper. You saw how Kobe and Dwight got along. Now you are adding another person with a mentality similar to Kobe's with a little man's complex on top of it. Dwight might have retired :mjlol:. Kobe and Chris definitely would have butted heads. And you are expecting Mike Brown or Antoni to oversee this shyt?

Finished the podcast earlier:

1. Didn’t know the HBO series in development about the Showtime Lakers era isn’t working with the Buss family at all...so that’s a little disappointing in the event they don’t do it well

2. Think Jeannie said they’re working on a docuseries or maybe on the Lakers starting with when her father bought them

3. I think a well-done movie about Jeannie’s life would be really interesting...she’s done and seen so much since she was 16

I kinda prefer it to be that way. No one to tell you can't talk about certain things that went down. People want the real story, not edited versions to not make people look bad. Tell the whole truth, not some or an edited version.

I think CP3 was the difference actually. Someone with Kobe’s killer attitude would’ve helped to get Dwight in line and CP3 would’ve made the offense flow more seamlessly and spared Kobe the wear and tear. I think it would’ve worked out great actually.

She was definitely playing nice in this interview tho. But truth is them small market teams was hatin hard and that’s what gave the whole basketball reasons fiasco a conspiratorial feel to it.

It'll look nasty ass hell the team owned by the NBA (and all the owners) gifting the Lakers Chris Paul.

They got a lottery pick, 23yo Eric Gordon (who was better than anyone in the Lakers deal), the #8 pick in the previous draft (Aminu), and the chance to tank for a top pick.

That's >>>> a declining Odom and 3 league-average players who wouldn't be able to elevate the Clips to anything but would keep them from tanking for a pick too.

the Pels were getting Dragic, Scola, Kevin Martin & someone else

Dragic >>> Gordon

Pels likely would have made playoffs

the trade was vetoed bc Dan Gilbert & Mark Cuban b*tched to Stern saying the Lakers were getting younger, shedding salary & getting the best player in the deal

we were giving up Gasol and Odom to make this deal work

Stern did give Demps full autonomy over basketball decisions so to veto the trade undermined him and the integrity of his decision making

the clippers haul was horrible in hindsight

Phil would've came back & I bet Jerry Buss would've been ok with him leading that team again

So giving up Gasol & Odom was a gift to the Lakers

12 months earlier, ppl were saying Gasol was one of the top 3 bigs in the game
