Jay doing what I said he wouldn't do because it's not trendy. I'll accept my L, gladly. This is a good album. His flow does sound off at times, as does the mixing, and I think this is a process of how chopped the samples are. In some areas it almost feels like No ID chopped the soul out of the tracks. I can't help but wonder how 9th Wonder would handle these, since he's prob the best chopper right now. Or if Dilla was alive.

I would have much rather have had Jake One do the full album. NO ID's beats here sound generic and lifeless.

Finally listened to this album. I'm not trying to rain on nikkas' parade in here or nothing but the album really ain't all that to me.

I think the only reason nikkas is hype is cause he's opening up more than he has in the past. And before some stan comes at me and says "did you really listen to it or skim through it?". Yes. I listened to it more than a couple of times. shyt I'd already read the lyrics to a number of songs cause nikkas was quoting his shyt left and right on here and other sites. Not only that, but I've heard quite a few nikkas riding around bumping this shyt too.

With a title like "The Story of O.J." I was anticipating more but the song didn't meet my expectations (love the Nina Simone sample tho!). The beats for 4:44 and Family Feud are nice. Those 2 beats stand out the most. Legacy too. I love the Donny Hathaway sample and the horns on Legacy. Horns always sound so rich.

But yeah, this album is just aight. Nothing I would say that's incredible or great like a lot of nikkas is saying. Just ok.
