6. It was a great album, but to me it was like Jordan beating the Sonics in 96 after he already won a 3 peat.

Still a 4.5 mic album to me tho

I was racking my brain the other day to try and figure out what the colour scheme for this album reminded me of, and it hit me this morning.

Peach and Black were the colours Prince adopted on 'Sign Of The Times'.

Might be a reach, but I found it interesting, especially given that they were building around the time of Prince's death

It's a good album, but it's very by the book. Jay-Z isn't at his best here, but he's great. The problem I have is that this will be overvalued. Jay-Z is replicating Life is Good here -- with No I.D. and lyrical themes. The rapping is very good, but I don't know -- this isn't doing anything for me in terms of innovation. My favorite aspect of Jay is that he can blend with eras and innovate on a mainstream platform. It's a 7.5/10 for me. Like Life is Good, 4:44 will probably grow on me.

I think Big Fish Theory is a better release of the last two weeks.. I don't know, I'm preparing to get negged. I just think hip-hop is moving forward with style and sound nowadays. 4:44 is Jay-Z's celebration lap.
