Time to turn this shyt into a Jason's kills appreciation thread
Nah if we're ranking the best Jason movies, Freddy vs Jason is the best one, followed by the remake, followed by Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, which has Crispin Glover just crazy as fukk. Everything else varies in terms of quality.
whats the name of the elm street doc? i wanna see that..Yeah that doc was good shyt...long as fukk but good stuff.
My only compliant was most of the doc boiled down to making the films cheap and quick..and that's not the doc's fault...but I thought there might've been deeper behind the scenes shyt/back stories like the Elm Street doc.
I enjoy the remake alot more than most people, but that list is pretty decent. Id put switch 3 with 1.....never really cared for one, but I knew the twist way before I saw it. First one I saw was 7, and I was hooked so Im a lil biased towards it....6 was very good, and happened to be the last one I saw (of the OG series before it split and did F vs. J...for some reason they never showed 4 or 6 during any marathon of the series I saw)breh come on The remake is fukking weak and boring and Freddy vs. jason was fun, but it was nowhere as fun as the 1980s flicks; the real order:
1.Part 6: Jason Lives (the greatest Jason movie of all time; the most entertaining and a classic)
2.Part 4: The Final Chapter (close to being number 1 and has the best kills of the series; another classic)
3.Part 2:
4.Part 1
5.Part 7: new Blood
6.Part 3
7.Part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan
8.Freddy vs. Jason
9.Jason Goes to Hell (dumb and didn't make a lick of sense; plus no fun because jason is barely in it)
10.Part 5: A New Beginning (horrible)
11.Jason X (horrible)
12.Remake (shouldn't even exist)

Friday Mark here checkin in....this is great news i love all of jasons movies...
Anyone seen the friday doc hosted by Feldman? shyts great.
Freddy vs Jason takes a gimmicky premise and makes it good. Compare that to Part 7 which is Jason vs Carrie but it's just boring as fukk. Or Jason Takes Manhattan, which doesn't live up to its title. FvJ loves the movies and understands why both characters work. It's smart and it doesn't emphasize how smart it is. The remake is along the same lines. It's not a straight-forward Friday the 13th movie, it's very much about the series itself.
Final Chapter is definitely the best of the 'classic' movies though. Part 6 is too jokey for its own good, like the James Bond opening. It doesn't work for me.
whats the name of the elm street doc? i wanna see that..
and yeah I watch that Friday one in 2 parts because of the length....but its based on a book about the series and covers everything in the book, with actual interviews.
Any of y'all got links for that other doc with Feldman? My name is Jason was
As for the best ones my list starts with 3,4 and 6 love the complete 80s-ness of these films, they will never get old to me
Haven't seen the doc but His name was Jason is a very dope documentary on the series
Never Sleep Again:
Made by the same people who made the Friday doc (they made NSA first). Hosted by Heather Langenkamp. It pretty much follows the same format as the Friday doc of going through each film and telling the stories behind it...like the Gay shyt in Nightmare 2 , Nightmare 4's pro-life message, etc.
It was before the release of the nightmare remake, so they don't go over that, but they do talk about it.
4 hours long but doesn't even feel like it. fukking great documentary, not just on the Nightmare series, but in general.
Interviewed mad people, even insignificant extras...only ones really missing are Depp and Arquette. But other than that pretty much everyone else involved in the franchise is in it.
part 1:
part 2:
plus Kane Hodder the god started in 7 I think......yea I agree you can switch 1 and 3; 7 had the best jason because from the movie before it, Jason was trapped underwater, rotting and decomposing for years, so when he gets out of the water, his spine and jaw bone are showing and he's bloated and he's all fukked up...best makeup job for Jason...I don't know why part 8 didn't continue the deterioration
