Part of the problem is the "normal channels" end up implicitly filtering out blacks and other people of color besides Asians. Yes, there's a pipeline problem (which people are clearly focusing some of their efforts on now), but that alone doesn't leave you with blacks making up just 1% of your tech workforce.

If your outreach efforts to schools focuses on the MITs, the UC Berkeleys, the CMUs and other top tier CS/engineering programs of the world, then yeah, you'll end up with a workforce that looks like Google's or Facebook's.

A lot of the hiring efforts these companies make comes down to just admitting that qualified candidates exist outside the typical schools they like to target, so they broaden their outreach efforts. They're not "lowering the bar" for anyone.

Google and most of these tech companies lean liberal. I'm telling you these liberals are just as racist as conservatives. They are just much more savvy and smooth in their racism. Look at how Zuckerberg and Facebook have been treating blacks. The liberals up top only like blacks to the extent that they can use the black struggle to get their own agenda pushed. Most of these tech companies have very few blacks in them, but they meet the 'diversity' quota because they have white women, trannies, homosexuals, etc. What ended up happening is that blacks were used to push the struggle forward and when it came time to dole out benefits, language was very carefully manipulated and generalized codewords started being used so that all of these other groups could jump in front of the line on the 'diversity' bandwaon.

I thought google was treating its employees good. A lot of tech and software companies seem to be pos. Thought the tech fields were open to diversity.

"Diversity" means negroes do the fieldwork and suffer on the front lines of the battle and the privileged liberals get to reap the benefits, aka white homosexuals, white women, white trannies, etc.

This is going to blow up in Google's face. His termination is going to drive the anti diversity sentiment underground. Facebook dealt with this issue recently when they were met resistance internally over Zuckerberg's BLM support. The women ultimately proved him right. Instead of being bold enough to engage in healthy debate, they took off of work further perpetuating stereotypes about women. This all stems from the safe space culture that has been created on college campuses. If it isn't stamped out soon, it will bleed into corporate America.

If you're a diversity hire, you have two choices a) complain and try to get people fired like they did or b) show up to work and kick ass in your role. Results speak for themselves. I was the first black man in my unit at my company. My work ethic and ability to get shyt done is why I've become valuable and difficult to replace.

Furthermore, Google is hurting itself in the short term by hiring people who may not be qualified to appease SJWs. The company's health is at risk with sub standard hires.

One, you're presuming that only white males are quality candidates. And please don't run from that when you quote me because that's what you're implying. Own it. And two, if you're a cutting edge technology company who's sole purpose is to innovate and disrupt, how does having a homogeneous environment drive that initiative? Wouldn't it be advantageous to fill your employee ranks with a diverse group of people from many diverse cultures and ways of life to foster new ways of thought?

Just call me a CaC and get it over with. There are people who are brought in simply for diversity purposes. There are sub standard hires. People that don't have the skills to compete on a daily basis, but filled a quota.

There aren't women in tech because they generally go to school for bullshyt like family studies and theater. Very few women are going to school for comp sci and engineering.

You just haven't been targeted, yet. Or your role isn't one that makes cacs and other non-Blacks envious of you.

Trust me, if you're truly a star, you will be targeted at some point.
