To your first statement... I don't even think that's an issue. I'm confident that would never happen. Especially for a company like Google.

To your second statement... It's because the hiring process, as-is, is a biased one that favors white men. So these types of programs are put into place to prevent the bias from becoming overwhelmingly obvious. You know, considering this whole manifesto thing, it shouldn't be that farfetched to you. There might be someone with the name Martavious who's just as qualified as Marshall who gets his resume tossed because of his name. That's less likely to happen in a diversity based program.

I don't understand, is Silicon Valley only white guys? Nah. One of my uncles was president of technology at a Silicon Valley based company, he had white dudes working under him, and his partner was some Chinese guy. He runs his own outfit now. Google CEO is an Indian. MS CEO is an Indian. Where is all this white domination? I'm not seeing it.

Stats don't lie, Silicon Valley is overwhelmingly white and male.

if u think we dont need a leader that can lead by example, ur not thinking straight.

for years, u've been taught to go to school and get a degree so u can get a job. and thats fine and dandy. but for the black man and his offspring, there's a recurring theme that keeps popping up about other races not wanting u, with or without a degree.

so how do u combat that? saying "speak for yourself" is just about as ignorant a thing to say than anything else. it shows u have the mentality of a brute animal and are unable to think ahead and reason in a sophisticated manner. but thats ok. everyone can be taught.

Alphabet Inc.’s Google has fired an employee who wrote an internal memo blasting the web company’s diversity policies, creating a firestorm across Silicon Valley.

James Damore, the Google engineer who wrote the note, confirmed his dismissal in an email, saying that he had been fired for "perpetuating gender stereotypes." A Google representative didn’t immediately return a request for comment.

Google’s Chief Executive Officer Sundar Pichai sent a note to employees on Monday that said portions of the employee’s memo "violate our Code of Conduct and cross the line by advancing harmful gender stereotypes in our workplace." But he didn’t say if the company was taking action against the employee.

Damore’s 10-page memorandum accused Google of silencing conservative political opinions and argued that biological differences play a role in the shortage of women in tech and leadership positions. It circulated widely inside the company and became public over the weekend, causing a furor that amplified the pressure on Google executives to take a more definitive stand.

report, 69 percent of its workforce and 80 percent of its technical staff are male.

This is going to blow up in Google's face. His termination is going to drive the anti diversity sentiment underground. Facebook dealt with this issue recently when they were met resistance internally over Zuckerberg's BLM support. The women ultimately proved him right. Instead of being bold enough to engage in healthy debate, they took off of work further perpetuating stereotypes about women. This all stems from the safe space culture that has been created on college campuses. If it isn't stamped out soon, it will bleed into corporate America.

If you're a diversity hire, you have two choices a) complain and try to get people fired like they did or b) show up to work and kick ass in your role. Results speak for themselves. I was the first black man in my unit at my company. My work ethic and ability to get shyt done is why I've become valuable and difficult to replace.

Furthermore, Google is hurting itself in the short term by hiring people who may not be qualified to appease SJWs. The company's health is at risk with sub standard hires.
