All that beautiful land and views :mjcry: can’t even enjoy it smfh
hated on by people like you abroad and hated on by people like them back home. shyt ain't new.

haters abound everywhere and resentment is in the air.
That's messed up. You'd think at least the local community religious figure would be off limits. The crooks don't have any type of code anymore.
the only time I would carry a gun is back home because it is 100% a fact that someone will try some shyt eventually and you can't depend on the system to have your back.

My wife's dad died last year and she inherited some land in Guy's Hill St. Catherine. The land is being using for farming and there are people (family members) living on it that she don't know. I told her to leave that shyt alone.
people take your shyt like that all the time in those countries. you gotta have people you trust to hold you down on that side or let that shyt go because it's definitely a fight to get it back.

If you guys have family in Clarendon, we are probably related some how.:pachaha:

But yeah Jamaica is a completely failed state. My father's side of the family has sold off land and closed the door on Jamaica, My mother has a house that is taking an eternity to build, one of my uncles was shot in the leg during a robbery that was set-up by his bum ass nephew getting revenge.

My father wants me to start a business down there with him, but no way in hell. Anywhere else I would have jumped at it, but JA is a wasteland filled with bad-minded and miserable people.

So y'all said Jamaica used to be one of the most peaceful places on earth, what preceded all the violence?

It's wild because my mother always talks about how back in the day in South Africa they didn't even have to lock their doors at night. This was around the 60s as well, same time y'all said Jamaica was peaceful. Never worried about violence. She grew up during the apartheid era though, and it seems like all the violence that it took to overthrow the apartheid government along with the income inequality just took the country in a different direction.

Do y'all have any theories on what caused Jamaica to go down the path it's going now?
It's a perfect storm of foolishness. It started in the 60's and 70's with the political tribalism and getting caught up in the cold war with Cuba and the United States. One party was aligned with and sympathetic to socialism and to Cuba. The United States didn't want another Cuba in it's sphere so it armed and funded the other political part and then actively started to destabilize the country politically and economically. That's when the seed was planted.

Then add in an aggressive and abrasive culture that celebrates antisocial and harmful behavior and you end up with current day Jamaica .

An entire nation is wicked because someone burned down your parent's house.

I understand the pain but there is no reason to come to such a harsh conclusion. Some of us need to learn to relativize.
Came to say this. A jamaican must of declined him because he is always talking sideways about the country

Politics. We weren't ready to be independent.

The country racked up so much debt, it crippled itself.

It's funny the countries that stayed close to UK are still good.
