yes other ethnicities have been loud about not wanting to be disparaged in Black music lately. from Arabs to Asians to Jews.

that shyt would have been banned BY THE PEOPLE IT TARGETS. finish that thought. WE ARE WAITING on people besides Black people to be outraged for us. that's the issue. Black people need to have internal dialogue about why depictions of violence amongst us of us are acceptable and entertaining. Stop deflecting to others
Them same people don’t have problems making a million violent movies about their culture tho right? All this “everybody is better than us” shyt pisses me the fukk off. As if we would be cool with a bunch of non blacks making music about killing blacks. Ur conflating issues and making a dishonest argument.

This thread is literally about Jamaica banning music that glorifies drug use and violence. Is that your definition of Black culture?
MUSIC which TALKS ABOUT things HAPPENING IN society typically is CULTURE.

Drugs and Violence IS NOT inherently CULTURE.

These are two SEPARATE and DISTINCT things, which you refuse to acknowledge .

Talking about death, war, murder, drug abuse etc. is not inherently "White" Culture but banning it
would literally wipe out whole swathes of Metal, Punk, Hard Rock etc.

Jamaica isn't banning music that "talks about" drug use or violence. They are banning music that glorifies it. There's plenty of hip hop here in the states that covers what's happening in the community as it relates to poverty, drugs and violence that aren't seen as glorifying those things.

"My choppa hate n*ggas" doesn't fall under that category.

Since you want to be purposefully obtuse.

:yeshrug:

Listening to white dudes with comb overs singing about murdering their dates is not tantamount to endorsing
rape and murder in real life.

Hip-Hop does not have an exclusivity deal on Violence or Drug use in it's art.

Them same people don’t have problems making a million violent movies about their culture tho right? All this “everybody is better than us” shyt pisses me the fukk off. This is all it really boils down to.

Art produced by Black folks must be pristine and christ like otherwise it portrays us in a bad light.

That isn't to say that all violent or drug filled rap is equal.

Benny the butcher is distinct and different from Young Thug even if their content occupies similar worlds.

At least we both agree that many of these dudes just don't like "Bad content" and don't really care how skillfully those
topics are explored.

I agree with the "focus on the economic issues first" crowd but honestly you can do both simultaneously lol some of these songs are just not a good look, man.

I'm not suggesting that hop hop has an exclusivity deal on violence or drug use but both subjects are predominate in hip hop. Hip Hop is the MOST popular genre of music in the united states of America.

I don't know what's not sinking in for you. I am a fan of Hip Hop, that's what drew me to the site. I am AGAINST ANTI-BLACK CONTENT IN HIP HOP.

Your primary stance is that violent Hip-Hop or Drug filled Hip-Hop influences people to be violent or do drugs.

You ARE NOT concerned with the failures of society.

You ARE NOT concerned with a lack of social safety nets.

RACIST redlining policies.

OVER Policing.

OPPORTUNITY and FOOD Deserts and so on, and so on.

You don't question what causes an underclass.

Instead your ENTIRE CAMPAIGN on this website is about "Degenerate Topics In Hip-Hop".

It's shytty Slacktivism at best and racist ideology pedaling at worst.

That is NOT my primary stance and I am concerned about those things which is why I have 7+ years of posts covering all of those topics. I am pointing out an obvious truth about the current state of hip hop (ON A HIP HOP BOARD). A lot of it is straight up anti-Black and for some strange reason that's a controversial statement in the face of rappers literally invoking the names of anti-Black hate groups like Aryan Nation and Ku Klux Klan

1. This is demonstrably false, A LOT of rappers have personal ideologies that run counter to this and the absolute biggest Hip-Hop artists
RIGHT NOW create and promote content COUNTER to this actually.

2. You never talk about or promote ANY Hip-Hop contrary to this.
In fact, I pretty much only see you post up in threads where you can talk about how Hip-Hop or just black people in general need to be policed.

3. There are bad actors in every genre, however, they are not the face of those genres. It's like writing metal off completely because Nazi Socialist Black Metal is a very real thing.

Who are these "biggest hip hop artists" creating and promoting content counter to this reality.

Are any of them on this list?

Honestly, good for them. The future of the kids have been put on the altar and sacrificed all in the name of entertainment.
