Not that you'd ever do research, but Duncan scored more and outrebounded Shaq in their matchups.

I watched every single playoff game from that era. I don't need to look back at the stats. Shaq was HANDS DOWN the best player of that time period. Duncan was formidable and definitely was the best defender i saw shaq go up against. he was the only dude i saw guard shaq one on one and do a good job. he also destroyed the lakers from the post. we could never match up with him. whether it was horry or samaki walker. he ate em up.

i'm not tryin to slight duncan's greatness. i have him in my top 10. he was just not as good as Shaq. Shaq was simply a step above him. and most people back then agreed. no one ever said duncan was better than shaq. nikkas were more concerned about whether duncan was better than garnett. shaq was on another level of greatness.

it was only after the 03 title duncan got respect. 2000, 2001, 2002, it was Shaq and everyone else.

Blah blah blah blah

Again, Shaq was outscored and outrebounded by Duncan when they played, whether it was playoffs or regular season. These are men that would guard each other for portions of the game, and Duncan almost always had the better game.

How come people always give credit to Jordan for the Flu game but nobody gives credit to Magic for playing at least 2 seasons with HIV

:mjlol:

:dead: that nikka was out there playing with flu-like symptoms every night how can you not respect a nikka giving it his all with monkey-pox in his blood.

he disrespected shaq bigtime talkin bout if there was someone from the top 10 that would get moved out it would be shaq.

to me shaq is top 5 or close to it. the fact they got dudes like bird and duncan over him is an insult.

especially duncan since shaq dominated him almost every time they played. there was not one moment during the early 2000s (even when duncan was gettin mvps) where any GM would take duncan over shaq to build a team around. not one. so the fact they got duncan ahead of shaq in the all-time list is a farce.[/QUOTE]

Nobody in history of the NBA could stop Shaq in his prime. Dude lost a lil credibility by making this bs list. And the lack of pg love is just :scusthov: I honestly did feel some type of way about this list and I don't know why

Duncan is one of the best power fowards in league history. Top 5. As a center he is pushed out of the top 10 altogether, so putting him against Shaq is unfair in terms of his best role.
He is only a force at center now because the centers now are softer by comparason.
A top center from back then or before like Ewing could devestate the whole game now, and Shaq was the last of those type of centers. Even a center that would of been considered softer back then like Vlade or Kukoc would knock the new age Duncan/Howard type centers around. So its really just an era thing. Like the way Kareem couldn't keep up physically today with the speed of the game.

This whole post is :wtf: breh, Duncan isn't just "one" of the best PFs, he is the best PF ever. Kukoc wasn't a center, and Vlade while good wasn't better than Gasol, Howard or Boogie.

:merchant: @ Kareem not being able to keep up today..........

Didn't say Vlade was better, just that he'd knock guys like Gasol or Howard around. Kukoc wasn't a center? Its been awhile... all those tall white center role players are hard to remember. Well, whats the dude that used to play for the Knicks? Pollard? I mean guys like him that were run of the mill would be too physical for guys nowadays. Alot of power fowards from the 80s/90s could be centers today.

Since when was Vlade some physical horse in the paint :dead: Gasol is the lightest he's been in his career and still would outweigh Vlade by about 25lbs.

The center position is in a very good place right now, if you want to talk about depleted positions SG is the one to talk about, not center.

And thinking Kareem wouldn't be able to play today is pure comedy.

There's maybe 5(Arguably) players in the history of basketball with an actual BETTER career than Kobe : Jordan, Kareem, Magic, Wilt?, Shaq...

Started to struggle around the last two. To Say that a player with over 30k points, 5 championships, third best scorer of all time isn't a top ten player is crazy. There's only two players in the history of basketball with 30k points and 5 rings, and they're the best two in the history of the game.

fukk outta here with that hating shyt.

Bill Russell. The Finals MVP trophy is named after him. And he's the reason the Celtics are the best franchise in NBA history.
