I hear you. Being a hater doesn’t garner one sympathy though.

Yeah, that's one of the realities of the business. Unless you were one of the very few tippy-top guys that made a ton of money and had all the title reigns and got to leave the business on their own terms, you'll most likely leave it on bad terms in bad health, possibly even addicted to pills or other drugs and end up broke & bitter complaining about the guys that made it. Its sad but true for a lot of those old guys.

And this size logic is stupid to me. Only in wrestling do we act like smaller guys can't be bad asses. Yet in real fighting (Boxing/MMA), some of the most popular fighters were smaller fighters.

In the 80's, Mike Tyson was the most famous/popular fighter out. And he was only 5'10 and weighed 215. Yet, he'd beat the breaks off all these wrestlers that you consider to look like "bad asses". Other than Tyson, you had guys like Sugar Ray Leonard, Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather, and Manny Pacquiao. In MMA, the biggest star is a 5'7 guy from Ireland. All of them small guys. So I guess they aren't bad asses right :usure:

Stuff like this is why people clown wrestling and I laugh at guys like Jim Cornette and all these old wrestlers who would brag about all these "big guys that look like legit bad asses" and laugh at smaller wrestlers, looking down on them because no smaller guy could ever be a badass. They live in this fantasy world, when in real life it's not even close to being like that. But I guess carnies gonna carny :manny:
Except what he says has merit..because Michaels and Bret Hart weren't filling seats up which is how we got to Austin bailing everyone out. He cleaned up their failures after he got that Mike Tyson stimulus package.

I feel like hes bitter because in his era Shawn and Bret wouldnt have been champs and Jake never even got a IC run
He deserved to hold some gold
He ain't bitter..he didn't say jack shyt about Taker, Rocky, and Austin. He called out the non draws..the losers..the guys who got whooped in the ratings. Bret Hart was pushed as a top guy but he didn't have the impact Austin had. Thats not being bitter..thats reality. And Jake Roberts didn't have people turn on him as face in his prime like Bret and Shawn did against Davey Boy, Taker, Razor, and Sid.

Wait, Mike Tyson? WTF? Are you saying Tyson didn't look like a bad ass? Is that really what you're saying? LOL. Tyson was one of the most bad ass fighters of all time what are you talking about? He looked like a bad ass, carried himself like a bad ass because he was a bad ass. I don't know anyone who watched Tyson and didn't get that impression so I have no idea what you're talking about there, Tyson is good an example of what I'm talking about. Guys like Piper and Terry Funk weren't that big either but they looked tough, carried themselves as tough guys and their work reflected that. A lot of these guys today look like the dude you'll see behind the counter at Gamestop or working as the short-order cook at Waffle House. (shout to Kevin Nash!)

Now it gets even worse, you decide to bring up welterweight boxers when the discussion is about heavyweight champions in wrestling. :snoop:

And how bad ass would Ray Leonard and De La Hoya look standing next to Foreman and Lennox Lewis? LOL.

It's ok that you like these current 'superstars' but there's a lot of fans (or former fans) that don't. You can like it all you want, it doesn't bother me one bit and the fact that I personally prefer the older stuff shouldn't bother you either.
No, I'm saying Tyson was small. But yet even though he was small, he was still way more of a badass than than any of them big guys like a Psycho Sid who just looks the part of a badass. Tyson was one.

Who cares if all the other guys weren't Heavyweights, they were still fighters and they were still extremely popular despite their small stature. Whether they looked the part of a badass or not, they were still a badass.

A lot of these boxers and MMA fighters don't look like they'd be fighters if you didn't know them and saw them in the street, but they'd still body you if you tried them.

You're assuming I like these new crop of wrestlers like that, and you're wrong. I'm just attacking that bullshyt way of thinking about the businesses was better because the top guys were big guys that looked like tough guys, because in sports where people actually fought, majority of the popular guys have been in the smaller side.

Mayweather is a small guy, yet he's the highest grossing boxer of all time. Imagine dismissing him just because he's small :heh:

He could have and should have called out Take cause he wasnt a draw as champion either. But he didnt cause he fit the mold of what a champ was in his day. Could have called out Nash too.

I dont call him bitter as an insult either, he should be because Shawn and Bret getting the title meant they were open to suddenly going to alternative options and Jake probably looks back and knows he deserved a title shot

I wouldn't call Tyson 'small' he was short but he was jacked like a motherfukker and looked like someone you didn't wanna fukk with. It's not just size its also the presentation, the look, how one carries himself. These new guys (most of them) are small and they don't present themselves or come off as tough guys. And these guys aren't drawing either which is why Vince keeps having to bring back the older guys to pop a rating or create interest in a ppv.

Yes, those welterweight fighters were very skilled and popular fighters..........for their weight class. What would happen if they had to fight heavyweights? They'd look like little kids in the ring and more than likely get destroyed. And lets not forget that the heavyweight division has been the most popular division and has historically carried the sport of boxing.

That's the point a lot of the old timer wrestlers are making is shouldn't the world heavyweight champion actually be a heavyweight and actually look like someone that could fukk people up? Whether you agree with it or not, I don't its all that crazy to have that opinion.

Everyone knows Nash was a failure but they didn't mention him and technically Taker is no real draw either in the hottest eras but fans have always been more loyal to Taker than Bret or Michaels.

Taker was a draw (not a huge draw but strong, imo), probably even more so than Bret or Shawn (he would usually out-pop them on shows back in the mid to late 90's) but Vince required his champions to do a lot of promotional appearances on tv and radio back then and they were so protective of Takers gimmick that doing that type of shyt wasn't gonna work. So Vince slotted Taker in more of a special attraction type of role like Andre the Giant.

Austin, Savage and Arn Anderson were badasses and they are the same size as Bret . Bret just didn't look tough or have an appealing personality. Shawn was just a flamboyant goofball in the ring. Wrestling is make believe and in a make believe world you have to look the part. More to it than just size. It about your look too. Not all models are pretty but they have a look that a magazine or designer wants.

He's right cuz the wwe almost went out of business because of it.

That's why the business is where it's at today cuz goofy marks think the look doesn't matter just as long as they can go which is completely untrue if you check the pedigree of the industry.

Pro wrestling is NOT boxing or mma.

The look always mattered first & for most.
