I agree he felt a sense of responsibility to add context to the situation without defending him at the same time.
There should be an “on code” response when it’s required. Many times it isn’t. I don’t believe in what Ja did and he needs to be punished. The handwringing, thug culture talk is just overboard because it plays into white people’s demonization of us, further allowing us to be killed innocently.
Compare this response to the flat out support received by Kyle Rittenhouse for actually using a gun to kill unarmed people. Their code kept him out of prison, while were trying to lock up and throw the key away on Ja Morant.
I get the impression that you don't believe that there are Black people who stand against nonsense, and the promotion of nonsense. Or that they shouldn't voice those opinions publicly.
My Father taught me to think and speak for myself. "On Code" to me is YTer speak, and a crutch for dudes to be followers and not say what they think.
