He's doing something right. Already posted this in another thread, but this is in Amsterdam. Cole is selling out concerts worldwide.

I like some of his songs but yeag the album was average. I see a lot of ppl praising his production but i feel its over rated

I'll agree Sideline Story wasn't seeing his tapes, but pretty much every artist in his class had the same problem. Take Care wasn't seeing So Far Gone, Rolling Papers was seeing Wiz's tapes, Finally Famous wasn't seeing Big Sean's tapes. I'm holding off on K.R.I.T's debut so maybe you guys could let me know if it's seeing his tapes. Cole had a solid debut and did numbers. Nothing to be dissapointed about imo.

So Far Gone is so overrated on the internet.

Still to early to say he's a disappointment, although I did feel he could have done better with Sideline Story, I also feel he wasn't satisfied with that album, but Gods Gift and Rise and Shine when i heard it made me do the

Nah that one was a classic mixtape.

obarth makes a good point though, I realized that almost every artist can never touch their mixtapes with their albums these days. Lil wayne is another example.

People here judge how hot a rapper is or how relevant a rapper is, based on how often you see their names on blogs.

J. Cole is where his peers are at. Is he on that Drake level of success no? but no rapper who came out since 08 is.

The problem with this nikka is he never wanna do features with his freshman like him

I remember watching a interview with him and he declined a wiz and big Sean feature.

What are you smoking? He had Drake on his album.
He was on Maybach Music Group, he was on Wales single, songs with Good Music, he was on Tygas album, he did joint with B.o.b. as well. It's just that he's not got a bunch of features on his mixtapes and albums. I don't agree with that bullsh*, be your own artist. These Dj Khaled styled albums are killing rpa.
