Cole is a prophet compared to these new crop of lame rappers. Wait till his second album comes out to judge.

Thats pretty much the consensus of what is being said in this thread which is not far from the truth.
Plus the fact that Jay-Z is behind your machine makes the general hiphop public kind of smirk like "...teachers pet" - as if he didn't deserve his spot.
I don't agree with that but the sentiment is hard to ignore when you check what the DJs/Streets/Whippers are bumping.
J.Cole has dope lyrics and good production but nothing really SIGNATURE that sets himself apart from the 101 rappers out there.
He's not wack but he's lacking that "IT" factor.

anyways, carry-on

J. Cole's album sounds like the demo CD of every talent show n!gga I went to college with...He's not wack at all. But he is the definition of pedestrian..Average on almost every level..

The fact that he was able to carve out a space and build a decent size fanbase should give hope to every halfway articulate black man that has ever picked up a mic...

He only disappointed me because critics were saying he was this generations Nas...Now that I know what he has to offer my expectations have been lowered considerably..

No. The Jay-z co sign is the only thing separating him from the likes of Elzhi & Jon Connor.

Cole got mad lyricism and flow and fire in his voice bruh.

He is not as nice as some people think he is though.

But still he is better than a lot of nikkas who are popular right now.

He wouldn't be in my top 5 rappers of today though not even close

Came in here to post this. J.Cole isn't in my top 5, but he's definitely in my top 15. He's better than most, but I feel if people dig deeper - and with the internet, there's no excuse - they'll discover emcees nicer than him.

In my opinion, Big KRIT does everything J.Cole does but better. The everyday nikka with big dreams who has inner conflict between his good side and his bad side and produces his own beats. Superior producer, raps about similar subject matter but in a nicer, more diversified way. KRIT pretty much replaced Cole completely on my list. Fulfills the exact same purpose for me. The only thing with KRIT is that because of his thick ass accent some people don't vibe with him as easily as they do with Cole.

You gonna have to fall back for a few months again if you keep talking reckless like you did last time you were on your Cole dikkriding tour and went in hiding when you saw the numbers :to:

Cats thought you had killed yourself, fortunately a mean depression was the only symptom.

:whoa:

All these cole fans in massive denial
