Wait, not to beat a dead horse here, but "Drake-lite"? nikkas must have short memories.lol. If anything, the internet once upon a time deemed J.Cole as being the antithesis of Drake. No one remembers the spring/summer/fall of 2010, when nikkas were blatantly hating on Aubrey in favor of Cole? Hell, I remember when nikkas were praying that Cole and Drake would randomly start beefing.lol.

"Naw, b. Cole spits that real shyt. See you're a simpin' ass Drake stan; you wouldn't understand the struggle of real nikkas like me and Cole.:lawd:"

 I remember this

J Cole is a story teller?

Now ya'll are bugging.

Drake is better with words BY FAR than Cole. Drake has better metaphors. Drake has more lyrical complexity. You got it twisted cause the guy can also hold a note now and then...which IS NOT a bad thing. Dude is the complete artist, and furthermore hes a better rapper than Drake. You must not have listened to anything in 2012.

Cole ain't touching a damn thing. :rudy:

You mean Cole ain't redundant? Dude raps about the same stuff as his more popular peers...just not as well. Hes not that versed and hes pretty corny not in behavior but in expression. The guy just is a perpetual underperformer. He raps just as much about women and materialistic BS as anyone else. J Cole THINKS hes conscious...but hes not. The guy has an identity crisis and even worse, he'd be corny either way.

Like I said...without the Jay-Z cosign, no one would care about this guy.

FOH talking about "substance"

Nah

Drake on comeback season is a better, more entertaining version of J Cole. That Drake is gone though and I can see why in 2012 someone would say cole>> Drake. Drake dont rap about shyt anymore, just caters to females all day

J Cole raps about the SAME shyt. Did you listen to his album? Any of his mixtapes?

Hes just as about women, fame, and money as every other artist out.

This nikka ain't political. He's not Lupe or anything.

Whats "rapping about something" to you? Abortion? Sallie Mae? The nikka swear he still in college talking about what he "gonna do once he gets on..." :pachaha:

Miss me with that.

Drake has a better way of communicating his message whether thats his personal struggles, dealing with fame, or even...yes...handling women. Dude says the shyt a bunch of people don't say.

J Cole tries SO HARD to emulate Drake its not even funny...and don't you lie and say he doesn't. The nikka stay trying to croon on songs doing his own choruses and what not.

:myman: you see through the bullshyt. J.Cole ain't doing nothing different than what some of these other rappers are doing.

Co-sign this thread except I was expecting Cole to be the next big thing after listening to The Come Up and The Warm Up. Dude was a breath of fresh air, and he definitely brought something to the game that it needed around that time, but he's shown no growth in his subject matter, he's actually regressed, and no progression as an artist since he came in. It's like he's content with his place in the game and just happy to have made any kind of a name and some money, and has no real desire to make an impact or be one of the legends in hip-hop. To each his own, but I thought this dude was gona make some serious noise and it never happened.
