I vividly remember Kurt loder announcing Biggie death...the jonbennet case, columbine and our school sitting all the kids down and explaining things were gonna change regarding bullying and school safety...I remember 9/11.

shyt the columbine shooting is a BIG indicator on separating us from millennial... because unless you grew up and went to a school in a high crime area then cops weren't at your school.. after columbine..(atleast in Jersey) we had a school resource officer(cop who carries a gun).


Not to mention social media jumped off when I was 19...I didn't grow up on that shyt.

We had xanga and myspace but it was in it's infancy. You're a zoomed if you don't know about AOL.

It's hard to even group Millennials together as an whole.

Because the people that was born in the 1980's grew up in a different world than the people born in the 1990's.

As everyone else has said, if you grew up without the internet you cannot be in the same generation of those who grew up after it. It’s a monumental shift in how you grew up. I didn’t have a reliable way to access the net till my freshman year of college, it’s one of the reasons I was excited about going.

I was born in 94 and remember being on the internet back in 2001 and finding out Aaliyah died. I was 6 years old back then. There should be a distinction between early Millennials and late Millennials.

I remember when some GOOD cartoons aired prime time on TV. When animated shows were breaking new ground every year. When SNES/Genesis was causing school yard fights. When crack was a profitable drug to sell, and being a J was something to be ashamed of.

A lot of Millennials are stunted though. Financially, socially, mentally. Because the innocence of youth was snatched up by 9/11 and the excitement of young adulthood was ruined by the 2008 financial crisis (if you were old enough to be affected by that)...and now covid. And so maybe that, along with the internet/social media, has helped merge these two generations more effectively than with past generations.
