Then a road be closed and you like “oh shyt”.

My wife still be talking shyt because she remembers when I would pick her up for a date with printed directions. But her hating ass didn’t know how to get to the spot either.

These folks don’t know nothing about hiding a card in the card catalog so nobody else could find that book you wanted to check out.
I missed a job interview once because the map didnt tell me the road was closed to construction :mjlol::francis:It could have been a dope gig too. I drove around for 20 minutes trying to figure out how to get there. My F bomb game was strong that day.:francis:

I did this whenever there was a game I wanted to rent at blockbuster but I didn't have the money yet. :mjlol:

The fact that gen z cats will never step inside a blockbuster video means we are not the same.

The fact that 80s baby's remember Michael Jordan BEFORE HE WON HIS 1ST ring means we are not the same

The fact that we can remember when the debut of "EA Sports It's in the game tag line" when it was new means we are not the same.

Nah. These Zoomers cant even have a damn conversation without using their cellphone as an electronic version of sucking their thumb. They out here thirsting for these "E-Girls" on Tik Tok instead of talking to them face to face and in the event they do see a woman, they ask for her damn OF instead of shooting their shot.

Speaking of which, Gen Z only knows Google Maps. Millennials remember when MapQuest started
My mom used to print pages of MapQuest before we would take roadtrips and I'm technically a Gen Z (Born in 97). I also remember having dial-up, using an IBM computer, and I didn't even get my first cellphone until I was already 18. So where exactly does that place me? :jbhmm:

Was born in the transition years 94-96.. there’s a clear overlap with folks in their later 20s.. specifically 27-29 ..we’re technically millennials, but share common characteristics with zoomers compared to the oldest millennials (38-40 years old)..

Bro...I ready for a debate or someone to school me...
Cause they are making up shyt...

I've never heard "millennial" until the last 5yrs or so... No one was using that.

Anyone that was born in the 80s or was like a teen or young teen in 90s was supposedly "generation X"...
Back then that was the only term u heard.
And I guess it meant the group that is moving the culture and consuming products at that time.

People have called me a "millennial" and i almost punched them in the face.
Millennials and gen Z is the same thing... Or close to it. The muthafukaz who need a cell phone and grew up with computers.

I've seen studies and people in these comments lumping 80's babies and 90s babies in one group.

:stopitslime: like that's fukking impossible.

But I think it's a culture thing.
The people who make these names don't know the things that impact black people and what makes a black 80s baby, different from a black 90s baby.

They go by what was going on in "their world"...
And try to make it fit for everybody

It’s funny because I be having the urge to punch a bamma in the face for saying Gen Y and Zoomers are the same ppl myself.

This is absurdly wrong.

Millenials are pre-internet kids. Actually VOTED for Obama and remember 9/11 vividly. How in the world could you say that's the same generation as people who've NEVER known the world before the web?

I remember clearly how they was making a very big deal about us millennials during that whole 2008 election race.

We primarily came up during the 2nd term Clinton, Bush 43, and 1st term Obama years (1996 to 2013)…..Gen Z came up during the 2nd term Obama, Trump, and now Biden years (2014 to present).

I don’t think Zoomers ever had to scour through catalogue papers from Sears, Target, K-Mart, Toys R Us, KB Toys, Funcoland, EB Games, Walmart, EastBay, etc. looking for some dope toys, cool lil gizmos & gadgets, consoles, the latest kicks, etc. for Christmas or birthday gift suggestions like Millennials did back in the day.

The Internet will connect each generation closer. My mother is on TikTok and knows the trends and dances that my niece knows.

There’s nothing major that differentiates generations anymore. Even with COVID-19, children had virtual learning along with college students. They both share that same memory.
I disagree. There is a clear difference in common sense, life skills, social skills, etc

Although I meant to say moving forward in the future, it is interesting that you and many others have disagreed with this statement. I may have to analyze the characteristics you listed and see this generation’s difference to others.

I also am approaching 21 and technically am apart of this current gen, so I may have to take that into consideration.

The argument the article is making is more of a cultural one; that the music, TV and films Gen-Z consume are rehashes of the same ones Millennials consumed during their adolescence.

I forgot to bring this up when I posted earlier. A while back I read an article from the CEO of Home Depot that said he was afraid for his business because Gen Z just doesn’t have the hands on experience, knowledge, or even care to keep the business afloat. Now, I know automation is going to be bigger than most people can fathom right now, but that’s just one major example of how we are different.

I was born in the 80s and I do woodwork (I posted the arcade I built from the ground up in 2019), I’ve been building and programming computers for 20+ years, do damn near all the maintenance and repairs on my house, can fix my own car to an extent, did electrical work on the HP Data Center Alpharetta, GA and electrical on the GA Dome, woke up to a 60 degree house yesterday and went to the store to get a limit switch to repair my furnace, and I can keep going and going but my point is, I don’t know too many people younger than me that can even know where to start on some of the things us millennials can do
