It's Pathetic For A League To Not Have A Championship Game

Ya but watching the other team blow a two goal lead to get a draw and the performance from Chelsea to ensure they couldn't win the league, :blessed::banderas::umad:

One of the best games and performances of the season from a player.

If you gotta provide explanations and cop pleas as to why your league's structure (and essentially the sport itself) is so riveting, then... well... well...

I'm pretty sure they showed Leicester having a party and celebrating. But I see what you're saying.

Nah, the team wasnt together at all. Fans were gathered at different bars in the city. Players were at home. One of the team members was shown on Instagram/Twitter sliding across his kitchen floor after the game was tied. A championship deserves to be celebrated with the team.

this is not a troll question.
let me ask you this as a person who does not watch american sport at all.
what is the use of a regular season when its purpose is not to crown the champion??
you are basically playing whatever amount of games with nothing riding on it!!

You play to determine seeding, and also have far more teams in the league than you do in soccer. After playing playing 82 games or more (excluding the NFL here), that is plenty of time to determine which TEAMS are worthy of being a champion. Then the BEST of the BEST go at it against each other for four rounds to determine a real winner.

The regular season isn't just the best of the best going at it. That is what the playoffs should be for, and are for.

You should not be able to be crowned champion in any of these following scenarios, and other scenarios beyond these:

-While hanging out at a bar drinking some scotch while two teams are playing to determine if you are crowned champion on your day off.

-Having the possibility of being crowned champion when the season isn't even officially over.

There is no logical sense in that, but maybe that's because many of us in the U.S. actually have a winners mentality unlike many Europeans.

Edit: Let's not even start how the most popular sporting even in the world can be DETERMINED by a GIMMICK in PK's. Strong sport.:russ::russ::russ::russ::russ:.

nah, Clemson/Bama was entertaining and theres been countless classic title games

im not gonna pretend i care about the Premier League, but thats such a corny ending to a season. why not just have the 2 finalists play for the chip? it uses the same system as gymnastics and sync swimming :scust:
title game participants decided by pencil necks and nerds and retired CTEball players.

Apparently thats okay for some as long as young men brains are being turned into puree.

There is something in the Premiership called a season. Its played over 38 games, and its round robin. That means you play 19 teams twice, home and away. Its actually fair and democratic.

it was a down year for city and chelsea, arguably man united, but they didn't surprise me, and everton, who were top 4 contenders at best.

arsenal was a solid 3rd place team, as usual. liverpool got it together towards the end. west ham and soton make up 6th and 7th, that's very solid for them, respectively

if you wanna say that the premier league is garbage compared to previous years and especially compared to other european leagues, then you're right, but none of that takes away from them dominating the table. spurs and leicester showed out this year

Neither spurs or leicester really dominated the table B,thats my point, thats why it is a down year, look at the point totals...lowest for a champion.
Tottenham was only in this thing because all the big clubs were disinterested this year...or had turmoil within there team...

I would bet a huge sum leicester doesnt finish top 10 next year...Premier League stinks when the top clubs are ass cheeks.

chelsea won with 87 points, leicester could very well get 83, they have two games in hand

united won in 2011 with 80 points

leicester not finishing top 10 next year and chelsea finishing 9th this year is exactly what everyone who has been crowing about a "big 3/4" for 15 years should want

They didnt really dominate at all....they took advantage of a really down year in the league, where all the big clubs stunk and didnt care to be honest...
Theyre going to finish in the low 80s in points far from dominating...I mean they didnt even win the title on the pitch, they won it watching a 2nd place team choke, seems fitting for the kind of season it was....which would be forgettable...
so?

seasons are in isolation. This isnt a 5 year data point to determine who the best.

We had 38 games to decide this and Leicester are the best team after this stretch.

I dont see how any real american can like soccer :scust:

Open your horizons man. I only watch the US in the world cup and the olympics, but it's not a bad sport. It's a bit like basketball too since it's a "simple" game. All you need is a ball, a goal, and skills.

Not my fault you have no idea what you're talking about or what you've been missing :umad::umad::umad:

Its 32 games over the course of half a year with tons of excitement. I like more sports than you. :yeshrug:

I've tried watching it, world cup soccer tends to be more enjoyable to me than these league gms. World cup tourney is basically one big playoff. These league giving titles w/o a playoff is just :scust:

Also I thought Leicester City was some kind of slick way to demean Manchester city :mjlol: I didn't know that was a real team. :ehh:

Difference is in those years big teams were competitive, this year we can obviously agree Chelsea,Man U,City,Arsenal were pretty mediocre to bad for alot of the season...

they have 8 more points than second best.

They are the best team. You are not making any sense. WE are talking about THIS season. THIS season, they lost 3 games. THIS season, they beat all the big clubs bar Arsenal. They the best team. No one cares if they fall back to relegation contenders next season because THIS season, they won the league. Stop sounding silly.
