Difference is in those years big teams were competitive, this year we can obviously agree Chelsea,Man U,City,Arsenal were pretty mediocre to bad for alot of the season...
what are we discussing? that this year was lower in quality than previous years? or that LC was the best this year?

I have been watching soccer since I was a kid. My family is from Haiti and soccer is popular in alot of black countries. I also love football and basketball. If you don't like it keep it moving but people will still watch it.

@BucciMane the European playoffs are in the semi-finals right now and you are missing out. Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid are playing a very exciting game that's going down to the wire to decide who goes to the championship.

Be the best for 38 games > best for (3-4 games football) 16 games (basketball) however many baseball is.

Plus the bottom teams having to play hard to not be relegated are as exciting at the end of the season. Much better then losing on purpose only to be rewarded with the top pick in a draft.

American owners and teams are too afraid to be relegated for poor play.

They werent the best team but they did win the title..best team doesnt always win.

Except, it makes absolutely zero sense to have it structured the way you do.

-No league should be able to have a champion determined before the regular season ends.

-It is beyond absurd to be able to win a league on your day off.

-Theoretically, a team could just rest its star players for the remaining five games or so if the season was already won, and fans miss out there.

-Playoffs are between the best of the best. Have the regular season filter out the average teams, and let the real contenders battle it out..

I'm not talking about a tournament like the World Cup, which has its own issues by allowing a championship game be determined by penalty kicks.:mjlol:. We're talking about a league here that can be won before the season is officially over.

You are complaining about the order that the games were scheduled. Had the Tottenham game been on Sunday and Leicester yesterday, they would have celebrated on the field. It's not even as important as you are trying to make it seem. I also don't think the Leicester fans will be complaining about the league being clinched when they buy tickets to remaining games this year.

The whole point of a season, with or without playoffs is to award a trophy to the best team. A double round robin league format is a better way of doing it than the NFL. And I love the NFL 1000000000 x more than Soccer.

I'm not saying that soccer is more exciting, or that the NFL should do things exact same either. :whoa:

The league system is perfect. I'd say a helicopter sunday is the most exciting thing in any sport.

Americans don't understand something...

True Football is the most competitive sport in the world... There are competitions at all levels... Between clubs, between nations, between leagues, between confederations, and in some centuries between intergalactic civilizations...

Domestic leagues have that system because they want their best teams playing the Champions League... If your league has more teams and good teams competing in the Champions League, chances are they will do a good job and therefore your league will gain prestige and money, a shyt ton of money...

They have also the Clubs World Cup, which is getting really good... If a team of your league wins that tournament that league will also win a shyt ton of money and prestige, so send the best teams to those competitions...

You can't send the best teams to those competitions with a playoff system... Simply as that.

The only thing I don't like about what happened with Leicester City is that the EPL didn't schedule both Tottenham and Leicester matches at the same time... I've seen matches for the championship being played at the same time, I don't know why the EPL didn't do this time... Everytime there's a mathematical possibility to win the league they should schedule those crucial matches at the same time.

I do agree that one-off tournaments like March Madness are trash, but if you're a sports league without any sort of playoff structure you're a trash league. The MLB has the best playoff structure of all of the major sports leagues though.
How is mlb different then nba when it comes to playoffs
