they're still in theaters though and overseas covid control is still significantly better than the shytshow here in the states. Tenet did 300 million overseas and only 57 million here. Now granted you only get 20-40% of the ticket revenue from overseas compared to half here, but

You lost me. Didn't say overseas tickets, but overseas ticket REVENUE. And most studios have been using the foreign take as the scope of their profits for a minute now especially on these big budget films. Recoup production and marketing stateside and the foreign revenue is the profit.

There are still production cost in overseas markets. Revenue is what’s left over from subtracting cost.

Basically. You can’t change the math domestically and think the math overseas will stay the same.

That’s not sure how that has anything to do with what I’m talking about? I don’t care about AMC or any theater.

Netflix can say Queens Gambit had 60 million eyeballs after two minutes of views and get no pushback because they produce it themselves. What they get out of it even if it fail and gets one season is something else.

If an investment firm gives you 40 million for a Bond film they want a ROI higher than 40 million.

These studios won’t be able to hide their viewing numbers or just make up subscriptions margins like Netflix does.
