Technically, Coastal West Africans and Central West Africans are the true "Negroes" because we were called that first. When the Spanish and Portuguese went along the coast they referred to all the tribes as being "Negro". What BHI don't realize is that Euros were trying to separate West Africans (Negroes) from Hamites (East Africans) by creating a distinction between "Negroes" and "Hamites"....It had nothing to do with African-Americans at the time...as there was no such thing as an AA during that time period...you guys had not been formed into an ethnic group yet.
