It would just water down the recognizable characteristics of the franchise even more. It's like having a white Shaft.

.

We dont need a black 007. He's a cartoon.. We have a black president...let's worry about getting another one any bets on when THAT will happen again..

Based on recent history I'd say half the time it took to get the first one
So by the year 2131 we should have another

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. All of the 00s are considered elite. Negged:camby:
He's supposed to be the same person in every movie, as ridiculous as that may seem. If he were just a code name, you'd be right and a black Bond would be due. But it's not. So a black 'Bond' would have to be a black 00 agent who is not James Bond. But then, what would be the point? Would we need a spinoff for every race and every sort of physical feature? Of course not.

To date, James Bond is the only agent known to have had the code number 007. During the timeframe of the You Only Live Twice novel, Bond was transferred into another branch and given the number 7777, suggesting there was no active 007 during that time frame (Bond was subsequently reinstated as 007 in the following book, The Man with the Golden Gun. In the John Gardner novels, 007 is the last remaining active 00-agent, the section itself having been dissolved by the 1980s; Raymond Benson later contradicted this in his novels.

Problem that you fukks are not realizing is the brother and sister whom were born in the 60's produce the Bond films ...the sister is OBE or "Order of the British Empire" ...it's one of the highest honors you can receive in the United Kingdom.

She got this for her James Bond works, "which had a cultural impact on the UK" ...Up until "Skyfall" it's ostensibly suggested that James Bond was a name given to all agents who used the code number 007.

Skyfall was the company's attempt to bring James Bond into the new generation of film, they failed horribly with the "Dark Knight" treatment. You think it was coincidence that Quantum (2008) post Obama didn't get their attention and they decided to hit the kill switch on Bond's racial legacy by making "Bond" his real name?

It's definitely a conspiracy to keep Bond white ...but if he's not black in the next film, I guarantee ticket sales will decline. It's not begging for a "black version" or anything. It's being REALISTIC ...Black men (mainly Nigerians) in the UK are the smartest men in the world (STATISTICALLY) and you mean to tell me you can't find a handsome brother to play a gentleman assassin for M16? Yet they handing out REAL HONORS too a fictional character?

...man you muthafukkas gotta wake up, if we don't stand up for a brethen NO ONE WILL. It's 2014 and they still writing us out of history.

I didn't read this entire thread but Jeffrey Wright was rumored to be bond #7 for years he even played Felix Leiter.

A white boy told me about him before Daniel Craig and was excited as hell

...secondly you played yourself because NO REAL JAMES BOND fan would NOT consider a black Bond as a possibility...
say breh...lets pretend there are actual bond fans here, black ones like me. no real bond fan wants to see it homogenized on some PC shyt.
if the next bond is black - great (he still has to be a good bond). but nobody wants to see it forced just because "it's only right".

Film producer Barbara Broccoli has received an OBE
James Bond movie producer Barbara Broccoli has received an OBE for services to the film industry.

Broccoli is the daughter of legendary filmmaker Albert R Broccoli (known as Cubby) who produced a string of James Bond movies.

She has followed in her father’s footsteps and produced five 007 films including the most recent – Casino Royale – starring new Bond Daniel Craig.

She’s also produced a number of Bond movies with half-brother Michael Wilson, who also received an OBE from the Queen for services to the film industry.

Speaking about her father, who died in 1996 and also received an OBE, she said: “He was awarded one 20-plus years ago so it’s very emotional for me, particularly getting one after he got one.”

Talking about the encouragement she received from Cubby, she added: “I think he led by example, both Michael and I followed his example; he was a great believer in sharing his knowledge.”

The producer was in Panama yesterday where filming has begun on Quantum Of Solace, the latest instalment of the secret agent films.

The producer – who received her OBE from the Queen – said: “It’s going extremely well and there’s lots of stunt work and lots of action.”
