It's looking like Moving into a Systems Engineer role would give me the technical skills for a Architect role, but it looks like theres no way to move into it without doing help desk > System admin.

No one can afford to take a pay cut these days. Move lateral if you have to but never backward. Not an option breh.
I may just have to go as far as I can in the Business Analyst area and probably end up in a consultant role

Aren't you in Info Sec or something though? I think I`m better off just being the BA that has technical skills that I am now and continue to gain skills vs trying to go 100% technical at this point. By the time I have 10 yrs experience I`d think I`d be able to make a good case for an Architect role somewhere if I haven't gone right into management.

Nah been helpdesk in pretty much all my positions.
I list the titles as either IT Analyst or Desktop Analyst tho
I do have my Sec+ and use a bunch of security terms on my resume too.

be careful with them titles though, some background checks look for the exact title on your resume to match what the employer had you as.

7. Support multiple network security technologies, including IDS/IPS, firewalls, network monitoring apps.
8. Network security monitoring and analysis,
9. Enterprise level firewall policy administration;
10. Intrusion detection and prevention, Log management, event monitoring and reporting

Just got hit up for a remote gig paying $65/hr. If I got it I'd be making $125/hr.

I worked from home for over a year straight. I couldn't wait to go back to a cubicle. I was going crazy breh
I'm working from home as a red badge NCE at Cisco and I literally "work" 3-4 hours a day and then stretch it to 8 somehow. I've only been doing it 3 weeks and I'm going crazy being alone all day. I'm thinking about trying to find a bullshyt office gig and then do both. You ever pulled off something like that?
