Perfectly comfortable staring at a screen. I'm introverted anyway and I do that currently at my non profit with terrible pay. I'm proficient with word and decent at excel. Comfortable with google suite.

When it comes to IT many people think its a good field for the introverted. Its really not YOU ARE going to be interacting with stakeholders a lot. It makes life much easier if your friendly and easy to get along with. SOFT skills are a must in IT. CS caters more to the introverted than IT does.

My coworker was let go for this very reason. He knew his stuff but had a weird attitude and wasn't approachable, or social at all. No one is saying be best friends with anybody but you will have to interact with people more than you think.

That's culture-dependent; where I work you'll struggle if you're a software engineer with bad soft skills. We send interviewees who want to work independently packing because they won't be successful no matter how well they are technically.

That's real. I have some soft skills and I don't mind faking being social. i think my biggest thing is I've never been around or worked with a bunch of white people before. Pre k to college has been black, And I've been working in Harlem the last 4 years. Most of my other mim wage jobs I've had was like retail so it was mostly black and latin.

Brehs... do you think a breh can finesse his way in 6 figures, 6 certs club by June, if a breh get these certs:
  • Aws developer,
  • Aws solution architect,
  • Aws sysops
  • scrum master
I have 2 years as a technical software consultant. Client facing. Intermediate SQL. Know some C#, JavaScript. Not great at those. But yeah

It’ll definitely require someone to take a risk on you because you lack the experience. With that being said, it’s achievable but be prepared to apply for as many positions as possible, hear the word no and study in the areas that you lack (you’ll know this once you interview and get asked technical questions).

source: I landed my first AWS job 2 months ago with minimum cloud exp (but lots of system engineering experience)

Like breh said just focus on getting the job. The lack of experience is what's going to hurt you from getting the 6 figs. Get in somewhere and start getting some projects under your belt. 2-3 years later you should be ready to demand 6 figs.

Thanks brehs for the advice. Much appreciated. Currently at 80 now. We'll see in a couple of months. I have the 3 aws exams sprinkled between jan and feb. I guess ill have a feel of the demand when i post the certs on my linkedin. Will examine what recruiters are pitching.

Does anyone know if examcompass is reliable for the security+ test? I know it's not going to be identical, but I'm just trying to see if the scores are any indication that you might pass the actual test.

anybody here a IT business analyst? if so few questions

how long have you been at it
do you have any certs
do you do or know anything about consulting
what's your state /salary

I was one for almost 5 years in my previous job
No certs although I did try to pursue a Business Analyst cert
Not in the consulting game
MA/Started at 98K ended at almost 120K...that doesn't include the added compensation such as bonuses and cash awards I got

It helped me when I did my A+ and Network +

The goal is you have to collect and research as many questions from as many websites and videos as possible

Next thing you know you can practice and breeze through hundreds of questions a day the week before the exam and know the answer to them quickly because you went through hundreds of questions already

You know you are ready when in the middle of the question, you have the answer in your head already.

This. Get the certs and knowledge you need for the position you want. Get in and learn everything you can and build your resume with experience and projects and you should be able to name your price.

This is what I did in the second part of my A+. I was basically just learning information for the first exam with minimal practice test. Struggled through the first exam because of this. Still passed but when I studied for the second exam I did very little information reading and read hundreds of practice questions and read the answers to get feel what they were looking for. Did way better on the second exam because of this.

conclusion: PRACTICE TEST PRACTICE TEST PRACTICE TEST
