Lol, Sec+ is interesting as hell but it’s a fukkin drag to have to study for a cert so hard.
I'm studying for it now as well, was gonna do the A+ but I got busy during that half of the summer with my job and them updating the exam:francis:

But now I'm back at school studying for it

I work in a SOC but the money still garbage, need to leave this shyt but pure recruiters have been calling me up.

College is offering me the chance to take a free CCNA prep class. Would that be worth it or should I look at getting other beginner level certs first?

Yes. Even if you don't get the cert the knowledge you gain would be worth it especially since its free. I would take it serious and try to learn as much as I could since its one of the better beginner certs you can get.

always negotiate...especially to my brehettes, women HAVE TO get comfortable asking for more. just got an offer, told them to go back to the drawing board across all aspects of it. ended up with $30k more in annual comp (increase in base and bonus target), $20k more in stock, a $20k sign-on (where there was no sign-on in the first offer) and an extra week vacation :win:

I’m looking to get into IT career. I know nothing about it. Do I get my A+ cert first? What y’all recommend

Recruiter just hit me up on LinkedIn about a desktop support position paying 23+.

I’m hoping I can get this..that’s a good enough amount where I’d feel comfortable leaving my current job and going fully into IT.
What cert you got
