Man any of you deeply familiar with AWS. The fact that there are security policies to restrict network traffic is frustrating because I'm trying to connect different servers on different subnets.

Any of y'all gotta a CISSP cert?

Yeah, passed the exam recently. It wasn't as hard as people made it seem. I haven't used it yet though. If you don't have the 4-5 years experience, you are designated as an associate of isc2. I haven't put myself out there for a lot of jobs yet though. I will once I complete the aws.

Is it straight theory and management questions or is there actual technical network/crypto/etc questions?

Very theoretical and management. If you understand the theory behind it you should be fine but exams are different. If you read the book, do some quizlet flashcards(they are already made by other people), cccure cissp practice question..you should be good to go.

I did tons of practice questions from every source I had. The ones I got wrong I read more explainations on Google. Then I read chapters I felt weak on. I am a disorganize learner though.

Depending on what moves i make career wise next yr, I might look into PMP and CISSP

Yea like was already said. its not a very difficult test if you understand the material and think about it from a management perspective. I took it about 5 years ago though so not sure if its changed but back then it was supposed to be this really hard test but i thought it was pretty easy. And its definitely been worth while career wise. So if you have the experience, i would highly recommend it.

So I got the job brehs :wow:

I'll be working on a contract as an entry-level Product Specialist/Analyst making almost twice of what I'm making now. The only downside is the distance. I'm so f*ckin excited man but nervous at the same time since this will be my first job in IT :lupe:

Congrats

Tips on how to get started in Cyber Security? I've glanced over the Security+ All in One book but it hasn't really caught my attention. Any other resources available or anything that can Push Me?

Sounds like the ACL's are restricting traffic between the subnets...may be at the network level and not on aws. Also the inter-vlan config may need to be looked into. Are you in a work environment or lab?
