I do have a top secret, I'm hoping that opens the door a littleYou'll have to job hop because most likely. Most companies don't care enough about IT Security to even create an dedicated position for it.
The Feds are constantly looking for IT Security folks but you have the barrier of needing an security clearance. And they only want specialized experience for the most part. So if you don't have experience on the exact technologies they use forget about getting hired.
This probaly doesn't belong here... But can anyone in here tell me if this is normal, please? I only have FF open with one tab on the-coli. This seems like a lot of connections to me... But I'm new so eh...
Pick up the Michael Meyers A+ bookI'm going the self taught route. Any suggestions. A+ cert? books?
I graduate with my A.S. in Computer Science in may of 2013, I'm trying to get some certs until than so I can find a decent job when I graduate while i go part-time for my B.S. I see people disagreeing but is A+ pretty much the standard to not get your resume tossed? I'm in my late 20's so I don't really have time to find a Mc job while I also finish my B.S. I was thinking of trying to get my A+, and network +, before I graduate. Can I be stuck in helpdesk purgatory even with a B.S.? I think I'm gonna go into computer engineering though, I noticed Computer Science is more programming. I've always been more into the hardware aspect of computers

after a couple of interviews it seems that help desk is like 90% customer service...i went into a couple of interviews and most of the workers and supervisors didn't know shyt about computers. the supervisor that interviewed me didnt know any cisco or microsoft certs and some of the workers didnt know how to set up dual monitors
i feel like you can lie that you have your a+ to get interviews and just sell customer service to them to get the job.
Just got my CISSP certification brehs
Ive Had My A+, Network, & Security Books For Months & Havent Opened Them
