what do u do?If you're asking do anyone know Java, then yes, I know Java. If you're asking about do anyone know how to use the Android SDK platform to build mobile apps, then yes I now my way around that as well. But seeing that there is more cash to be made elsewhere, I don't use Android nearly as much as I use other shyt. In fact...I no longer develop on the Android platform. It's cool if you want to create a quick lil app though.

I've been a software developer going on 5 years now. I've worked on several projects that range from in-house business apps, web apps, middleware, etc. A large majority of that code was written in Java. Recently, I accepted a job here in Atlanta in a .NET-based shop. Great pay, dope company. We provide billing solutions to some of the top companies worldwide within the telecommunications industry. However, today, I'm already plotting my next move as I'm thinking about making the permanent jump to SQL (I've written a lot of SQL code as well), Business Intelligence, and Big Data.
brehzs how did you not blow your brains out trying to learn javascript for the first time?
Hadoop....
Its just practice....but javascript MVC....I hate that shyt
Breh, Hadoop is bout to have the game on SMASH. People with big data skills bout to kill the game
Yep, this is pretty much it. Learning to program is ALL about practice and repetition. When I was first starting out I was programming 12-15 hrs per day till eventually everything just "clicked" in my mind. Starting out I was racking up well over 8,000 hrs per year programming.
They do Hadoop here at my job... my manager pulled me to the side last week like...:I want you learning that"....I was like
So I read this thread few months ago, got me excited like IT was the thing and I was ready to switch over.
However I got no experience in the IT world but I did read up on few books, about few weeks ago I made calls and got lucked up.
So basically I got internship offer, I have the choice to be a Desktop specialist at a HUGE company (fortune 500)
or Jr System Admin at a small company.
IT folks....which one should I go for?
