So today I got sent an offer letter for an internship at a big financial institution for their tech internship. 30+/hour, 2000$ stipend
Let me tell yall I want to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to this thread for all yall motivation and inspiration to go and chase this IT dream we all got. I owe it all to yall, and reading through this thread multiple times, bookmarking posts, following advice, this work has really paid off. And for the guys I PM'ed, thank you as well for your advice and guidance.
This about to take my career to the stratosphere and all before graduation, I'm elated as fukk right now. I gotta ponder this offer because I'm looking forward to hearing back from a few more companies with their decisions. But for now, to God be the glory

I've never had to do a coding exercise for an interview so I couldn't tell you. My day job is network/security.
I just like automating shyt so I cut my teeth on powershell when i first got into IT and picked up python a few years ago along with config management, containers and the whole IaC thing. As long as I do my day job to a satisfactory level, I have free reign to do whatever else I want, so any new tool that gets spun up for either myself or my team gets containerized, version controlled and a pipeline built out for it if needed. Kubernetes just felt like a natural extension of that so I just went for it

9 days straight of 12 hour meetings to deal with VMware's bullshyt. People hopping across multiple chatrooms in Team, and tempers starting to fly, Multiple vendors and sr level guys talking spicy to each other. This place is a clusterfukk

Between the disorganization, lazy team leads who arent engaged 80% of the time, leaving their team in the dark and being stuck on a team of incompetent bumbling idiots, I'm fukking done with this shyt. I'm at a point where I dread logging on now . Just a professional log retriever and change ticket creator, no technical aspect whatsoever, I need to research different areas of IT because doing sysadmin shyt seems to be a deadend path
only the senior and principle engineers see action while the rest get stuck with menial task.
I'm not doing any of the shyt I was hired to do
If the nikka working fries @ Wendys knew what some of us get paid to do basically nothing....Theyd commit that
I'm thankful but this shyt aint good in the longterm for career prospects
