Whats really good 6 figure 6 Certs brehs?

Anyone passed EC-ECSA in here?

Just passed the CEH and already got my CISSP in the bag. How difficult is the EC-ECSA exam?

How did you find the CEH? I got that one to do right after the sec+.

Exactly!

That was the whole reason I got my RHCSA . I originally started off on the pure linux Engineer --->Devops path, but as fate would have it, I sort of just fell into this VMware stuff and I've been loving it just as much and its gettin me mad bread because of my experience with it

TBH I really havent tried nearly as hard enough to land a Linux role, Maybe I can find a second job doing Linux than springboard to a Devops role

Currently I'm already in a level 3 Cloud/Infrastructure engineer role for a firm that deals exclusively with providing cloud-based solutions and services. I'm just trying to soak up as much as I can between my this job and my homelabs.

I plan to stay in the cloud/virtualization/Linux side of things for the long term. I havent had a linux role yet but maybe its time to start pushing for that.

Cloud/Virtualization for day job

Linux- evening job - After that I'm shooting for Devops

Are you doing any type of automation/scaling on the vmware side of things in your day to day? Like fukking with govc + python/bash?

If you are and you aren't already using terraform, you can start implementing it into you workflow along with packer... That way the switchover to cloud would be seamless since you'd already be using industry standard IaC tools on prem.. I mean shyt, I use that combo even in my home lab because it saves a fukkton of time spinning up new test infra and you can just burn it once you're done.

Havent gotten into fun day to day shyt yet... But I been sharpening my Bash and powershell skills with all this down time.... but yeah Automation is definitly a big part of the job.

Still waiting for this slow ass onboarding process to be done with. It's been going on 4 months now lol and i'm still just gettin paid to do jack shyt but do a few new hire training courses

I been getting antsy and impatitent so I keep putting out fillers and I've been getting at least 6 calls a day on average. all them over a $100K .

I wanna make this contract work out but If the money and situation is right, I might have to bounce.

getting paid to do nothing is cool, but shyt is getting old. I love doing shyt and knocking it out of the park but im just sitting here twindling my thumbs.

On my last contract, I was put into a position were I had to step up and be THAT nikka, I was honestly and very literally on a team with a bunch of fukkin bums and idiots. I was clearing 170 tickets a month because people kept quitting and shyt. I made a name for myself there and being under all that pressure just made me better and better at thriving in chaos.

I'm not intimidated by any of this shyt now, I just wanna get my hands dirty again and learn as much shyt as I can before I move onto the next contract.

Can I skip the A+ for CySA+ cert?

You can, but wouldn’t the gig require a Sec+ cert first? Some people don’t fukk with A+ but it’s a great foundation. I took a CySA course, it’s not bad but you wanna have some idea of Sec+ first or else it’ll look a bit foreign.

The shyt that’s frustrated me is admittedly I’m a terrible test taker and have pretty trash study habits. I’m a much better apprentice/learn on the job type. But I’ll never get my foot in the door without overcoming this cert shyt. Started reaching out to people I know in the field to help out.

How have you been studying? I relay that question to anyone else in here.

The only certs Security related certs I've been asked for was Security+ or CEH which was years ago. The CISSP, OSCP or any SANS certs seem to be the most popular these days. The SANS certs are probably the easiest. But are out of most people's and companies price range. I've seen companies require SANS certs to work for them. Yet won't pay for their own employees to get those same SANS certs.
:heh:

These companies are full of shyt and don't know what they want. They care more about how someone looks on paper rather than being good at their job.
