Insecure clearly has a a cliche archetype anyone could pick up in the first seconds of the trailers they put out for it.
watching the trailers for Atlanta you had no idea what it was even going to be about.
If the people in a show being depicted aren't like you, then you should not take offense when those types of people are depicted because it's not about YOU.
When Black people say Black Lives Matter, it doesn't mean that the lives of other groups of people don't matter.
When Black people talk about cops that shoot unarmed Black people, they aren't talking about ALL cops, but just like the Black men in this thread who claim these characters don't represent them, they STILL get angry because apparently, if Black men aren't being depicted in a light they've signed off on, it's unacceptable entirely.

I think you're open to it in theory, but in practice it has to be under very specific and restrictive parameters for you to not have a problem with it. But I don't expect you guys to support black women, really I don't, so I'm not surprised nor hurt by your comments. I was just calling out the ridiculousness of it all because of the comparison you guys chose to prop up. Do you.
