I don't even think we can trade a first rounder.
We CANNOT per league rules and we really should not even if we could. We

INCOMING:
  • None
OUTGOING:
  • 2019 second round draft pick to Minnesota- Miami's 2019 2nd round pick to Minnesota (via Charlotte) [Charlotte-Miami, 6/26/2014; Charlotte-Minnesota, 2/10/2015]
  • 2020 second round draft pick to Sacramento- Miami's 2020 2nd round pick to Sacramento (via Boston to Cleveland) [Boston-Miami, 7/27/2015; Boston-Cleveland, 8/22/2017; Cleveland-Sacramento-Utah, 2/8/2018]
  • 2021 first round draft pick to Philadelphia- Miami's 2021 1st round pick to Philadelphia (via Phoenix) [Miami-New Orleans-Phoenix, 2/19/2015; Philadelphia-Phoenix, 6/21/2018]
  • 2021 second round draft pick to Sacramento- Miami's 2021 2nd round pick to Sacramento (via Portland) [Miami-Portland, 2/18/2016; Portland-Sacramento, 6/21/2018]
  • 2023 second round draft pick to Dallas- Miami's 2023 2nd round pick to Dallas [Dallas-Miami, 7/7/2017]
  • 2024 second round draft pick to Cleveland- Miami's 2024 2nd round pick to Cleveland protected for selections 31-55 (if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then Miami's obligation to Cleveland will be extinguished) [Cleveland-Miami, 2/8/2018]

And I'd hate to give up Josh Richardson for a potential one-year rental but fukk if he leaves that leaves us with cap room because no way I give Jimmy Butler a max deal and im sure Riley wont either.

J-Rich and Bam do not seem to be in any rumored trade package, and Miami is trying to keep Winslow as well. If they could pull off a trade package of Whiteside and Tyler and/or Dion for Butler :wow:

Can this really be a possibility? :mjcry:

Wait... makes no sense.

From what i understand we are not allowed to trade consecutive 1st rounders. We traded out 2018 pick to the Suns in the Dragic deal and Philly has our 2020 which (I believe) they got from Boston who got it from Cleveland.

So again if out 2018 1st round pick was traded how are we allowed to trade the 2019 pick? Am i misunderstanding the rule?

I been saying this.

Time for Winslow to put up or (he and his stans) shut up. This is year 4. Or some apologists wanna say 3.5...whatever. All excuses out the window. We need to know what we have in him so we know where to focus our energy moving forward.

In J-Rich we know we have a dependable backup and marginal starter who's a good defender and can cut to the basket and finish along with a below average 3pt shot. I think he's met my expectations based on where we drafted him. We can argue the contract numbers of course but it's not a bad contract.

In Winslow... we're still not sure what we have in the guy other than dependable defender. His ceiling is far higher than Josh's but honestly i just dont see him getting the opportunity to grow into what he could be here in this system. And i dont see that dog in him

Ah... you're right.

So wait... we're down to only one draft pick owed to the Sixers right now? Though we owed one more to Phoenix :lupe:

Im totally against dealing any draft picks specially first rounders at the moment until we're winning UNLESS it's for a legit super star.

Jimmy Butler does not fit that description IMO.

As bad as i wanna get rid of some of these contracts i dont think having all these years without young talent coming in is worth it.

Quite honestly i hope the players are ready to dig in the trenches next lock out because i hate this salary cap bullshyt. Still better than the NFL tho/
