Your silly ass taking a shot at OKC to annoy me, and I'm not even a Thunder fan.

Secondly, I just don't believe in sacrificing multiple seasons for the HOPE that said draft pick turns out. Like a poster said earlier in this thread, luck plays a significant role in a rebuild. We've seen too many times where teams tank for top picks, and those picks turn out to be trash
We've also seen teams like the Knicks float between low lottery and 1st round exit for over a decade signing big contract after big contract hoping the player would turn them around. It's EASY to be treadmill.

It was a dumb ass point he made anyway. OKC made moves to try to compete this year, why would they have preferred a rookie over Carmelo. This is the tank/2k generation, "we just have to be down for 1 year and then we're set " If it was a one time deal everybody in the league would do it, there's a reason why you have habitual lottery offenders like Orlando, Charlotte, and Sacramento.

As @Freddie.Cane said its a lot of money coming off the books the summer of 2020, im not saying the plan is to wait it out until then to sign multiple max guys, but even if it was..how would competing, or treadmilling as the goofies call it, until then be any worse of a plan than "tanking" for multiple years :heh: Failure on either route would yield the same result meanwhile the path to competing would come much sooner with the former as opposed to waiting on a bunch of kids. I can already can see them fixin to say "bu but..who gonna come play here just cause we have money, we dont have a star". But I already set that trap. Last summer I asked if we had tanked, would we have secured a meeting with the premier free agent on the market? And what I was told is that "Miami is a free agent destination period" so that's what we rolling with. We've never been a tanking organization, wont be one either.

because no players are coming here to a team with NO base. Who are these players coming in 2020 to play by themselves?
we're a free agent destination period, that's what yall told me last year. Ya'll said even if we had tanked we would have secured a meeting last summer. Didnt seem to matter that we didnt have a base then

We get meetings because dudes get a free trip to South Beach, we also said there wasn't a chance Durant or Hayward were coming here.

I don't want to get into this again, but we are where I said we would be, remember I never wanted Dion and Johnson(either one) here.

I said give Josh and Winslow the reigns at their positions and let the chips fall

You're being disingenuous. Hayward scheduled meetings with three teams in the league and we were one. Cat could have went out to LA if he wanted a free trip somewhere, guys dont even have to come to Miami for pitches. We were absolutely in the mix it just didnt happen. But you take those chances every single time.

I am completely cool tanking because my trust in our scouting department is strong. NY, ATL, and other low bottom tanking teams suck at scouting. If we had lost more games, Donovan Mitchell would have been ours. Bam is promising. However, I am also cool with just being treadmill status for the next two years. We just need to use draft picks. John Collins and Kyle Kuzma were 19th and 27th overall picks. Kawhi was 15th overall and Jimmy Buckets was 30. We can find good value. But, I prefer trading everyone away and tanking. Higher draft picks and gives Bam, J-Rich, and Winslow more playing time and gives them chances to further develop.

Its funny too because a lot of Heat fans are honestly front runners, they dont have the guts to stick around for a process type rebuild.

Cheap tickets, opportunities to see Miami Heat dancers up close and personal, and drafting a lottery pick :whew:

But it takes real guts to strive for the treadmill and go from missing the playoffs by a game to getting bounced in 5 in the first. :obama:

Maybe we'll meet with more free agents who tell us they like our pitch and then go sign with teams with young talent and established superstars (That were built primarily through the draft).

Lmao at waiting for a bunch of kids as if a bunch of kids didn't just whoop us in 5 games. Embiid, Simmons, and Saric are how old? Adorable :mjlol:

J-Rich is that Jimmy Butler/Kawhi/Derozan breed. I think he'll improve dramatically every off-season as long as he stays healthy.

One of the best perimeter defenders in the league and slowly turning into a steady, versatile offensive player. If he learns to create off the bounce and really handle the rock, the sky is the limit.

As frustrating as this payroll hell, I'd honestly prefer to keep Hassan over getting rid of him by pairing him with Winslow/JRich/Bam.

McGruder can go though.

I also hope we continue to give DJJ a spot on our team.
