Watching Boston tonight, we were arrogant as fukk thinking we could compete with that team (even without Kyrie). :mjcry:
I was begging for that matchup. Cannot explain how humbling these games are :to:

I was humbled after Philly handled us pretty easily despite us fighting our ass off. It's crazy when you can outplay a team for 3 straight quarters only to see them turn it on in the 4th to straight up "out talent" you.

I do think not having Waiters hurt a lot though but still.

If the sentiment at the end of the season is “if only Dion Waiters were healthy”, then it was a lost season on opening night.

The truth and hilarity of this is both depressing and hilarious. :mjcry:

Be an average team currently, brehs :mjcry:
I can’t believe we gave that big deal to a guy with career averages of 13.3/2.8/2.8 who shoots 41% from the field and 70% at the line on 2.8 attempts per game, who’s missed 88 games the last two seasons :francis:. Pat said a few years ago that tanking would put him in the nuthouse. Can’t believe it only took 41 games to do it.

thought we had the series in the bag after we won game 2

on some "there's no way a team full of eruo cacs led by a couple of youngns is gonna come into our arena and beat us in the playoffs:childplease:"

reminds me of when i thought the 2014 Finals was gonna be another 7 game thriller after we stole game 2 in san antonio

joke was on me:mjcry:

My brother's keeper
We just got washed in 5 in the playoffs by a team with multiple high draft picks on rookie deals with one of the highest payrolls in the league and no cap space. :mjlol:

Congrats on your moral victory against drafting young, cheap talent since spending a combined 62 million dollars on Dragic, Whiteside, and TJ alone next year is your idea of a good future.
A playoffs we wouldn't have made if a 36 year old nikka didn't come through the doors

And no playoff exp except for like JJ Redikkhead smh

but tanking is kinda rolling dice
It could go bad and take forever sure, but the majority of the time that’s how you get your star. That or fleecing a team for their top pick, and that usually gets a complimentary player like how the Celtics and lakers got Kevin McHale & Robert Parrish and James worthy. Here’s a few guys who took the team that drafted them to the finals as it’s best player and won at least one of the 3 between finals MVP, a league MVP, or defensive player of the year award in their careers

:mjpls: - third overall pick

Hakeem - top overall pick

:troll: - top overall pick

Wade - fifth overall pick

Duncan - top overall pick

:shaq: - top overall pick (signed in Los Angeles as a free agent after his rookie deal)

KD - second overall pick

Curry - ninth overall pick

:aicmon: - top overall pick

Dwight - top overall pick

Dirk - ninth overall pick

:childplease: - 13th overall pick

Magic - top overall pick

Kareem - top overall pick

Seeing a pattern here?

To follow up on my previous post, here’s the teams since 1980 that went to the finals with their best player being a past, present, or future MVP, finals MVP, or DPOY that they either signed as a free agent or traded for:

1980-85 Lakers with Kareem: they fleeced the bucks hard for Kareem and got 3 first round picks from the Jazz for Gail Goodrich in 1976, including the one they used on magic. They also gave up next to nothing for the top pick in 1982 (James Worthy)

1992-93 suns with Charles Barkley: they gave up two guys who averaged a combined 12.8 points on the career and Jeff Hornacek for Chuck

2000-04 Lakers: signed Shaq as a free agent after the magic got cheap with him

2003-04 pistons: total anomaly how they were put together

2007-08 Celtics: already had Pierce. Traded Delonte West, Wally Szczerbiak, Jeff green, Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes, Theo Ratliff, Sebastian Telfair, and a first round pick for Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett.

2011-14 heat: signed LeBron as a free agent. Wade was already there

2015-present day cavaliers: LeBron decided to go back to win one for Cleveland and they got the top pick basically every year he was in Miami so they got Kyrie in the 2011 draft.

Watching Boston just makes me more pissed that we lost to the Sixers. Boston dont even got their 2 best players. but because they have a REAL coach, they were able to easily handle that inexperienced Sixers team. With how much talent and depth we have, there's no reason we shouldn't still be in the playoffs. You give Stevens our team and we are going to the finals. No doubt about it. We have everything. Scorers, shooters, size, defense, heart......we had EVERYTHING needed to be in the the ECF. shyt is just pathetic. It's officially fukk riley if he dont get rid of this fakkit.
