All them older actors were putting out heat when they were younger and most of them transitioned into action roles. Rock started out as an action movie actor and hasn't put out a single action movie classic. They're also with the exception of Keanu better dramatic actors than Rock is.

Comparing Denzel and Tom Cruise to The Rock is madness. All of the actors you named have established classic franchises and certified classics under their belt and can actually act. The Rock has yet to create one and people been telling me for years he's on the cusp but yet here we are.

He prolly could’ve but every since F&F success he experienced he’s been chasing box office juggernauts, that’s why he wanted that super hero shyt.
Taken, equalizer, and John wick aren’t really box office juggernauts like f&f and comic book movies but those are highly successful franchises all those actors can call their own. Maybe The Rock should go that rock.

Rock will have no problem getting roles in Hollywood as long as he don't have to involve his production company with all of his movies. He needs to just let someone else run the show some times but even saying that if he was really that down an out he would NOT have got his own Fast movie with him producing it. Vin would have just gave him a couple of set pieces in Fast X/X2.
