I've seen quite a few couples where at first glance...because of how we are programmed...anyone witnessing these couples would automatically come to the conclusion that the white guy is banking or has his ducks in order simply because he wears his pants up, slicks his hair back and wears his button down tucked in...

But once you actually get to know them....dude is usually unemployed, unskilled, and uneducated while the sista is "helping him get back on track."

I remember comedian Gary Owen said that his black wife was richer and had a better education than him.

Another is Diana Ross, after her husband's death it comes out that she was worth more than him. With all of her wealth, his family still looked down on her.

Please expound.

Because I notice that when black women date guys who are not as attractive, black men make comments about the black woman dating the guy for his money. This is particularly true when black women date white men. We can't win either way.

And I also believe that it is really important to make the distinction between the types of men that black women from different SES backgrounds, educational backgrounds, professions and careers, etc tend to view as desirable mates because we can not be grouped singularly.

But that kind of feed into what the poster was saying in a way. The reason they may think that is because they rarely see those black women with black men of that attractiveness level.

Which bring up another point. Some black women when dealing with black men want him to be tall, handsome, in shape, muscular, blah, blah. Yet you will see that same black woman with the ugliest, shortest, out shape fat or skinny white dude you ever seen.

The same go for income as well. You see black women demanding that the brother make a certain amount of money yet she will end up dating a white guy that flip burgers..lol.

The part you described was only one small section of her paper in which she quoted an author. Furthermore, she even supplied info from a sociologist to debunk that claim.
Next time you try to school people make sure you bring the right books to class.

So i'm sitting here watching cnn who's previewing a show on shortage of black men for black women in the community and u see these so called professional women talking about brothers being in jail, not in college, or the same excuse dating outside there race.

I always laugh when I hear Black women talking about they want an Idris Elba-lookin' nikkas, who makes $100K+. Where are they going to find those nikkas other than the NBA, NFL, etc.? I work in corporate America. I never see big, Black nikkas walking around. I usually see a bunch of Drake-looking nikkas. Non-threatening nikkas. Cacs are ruthless in corporate America. You think they just toss nikkas resumes in the bushes when they see a "Black" name? They also toss you in the bushes when you show up to the interview and don't "fit" the culture. In other words, if it's a majority white male office, chances are a nikka that "threatens" their sense of manhood has no shot, especially if women work there, too.

It cuts deep, brehettes. There aren't many 2pac-in-a-business-suits walking around corporate America, pulling in $100K. Very rare.
