Just comparing then to now, Hart is #30 in top followers on twitter, so he ain't exactly a slouch in the fame department. Only maybe 3 black folk more popular than him on social media.
It's not even close....Eddie did several top 5 grossing movies and he starred in a movie that was #1 in 84....he was beating out Ghostbusters in his prime...Kevin hart is doing shytty comedy sequels...
He can't touch Eddie in terms of roles, money or relevance...
And was supposed to be in ghostbusters...Imagine if he HADN'T turned that project down
Do you guys think Kevin Hart is as famous as Eddie Murphy was in the 80's?
This question is for the older dudes on the board who are old enough to remember how big Eddie Murphy was in the 80's.
I know eddie murphy fell off sometime around Daddy day care- but people forgot he was a megastar in the 80s/90s
ALSO- back then there was no "Reality show celebritys" (minus real world) and no IG fame, no Youtube or social media fame- Meaning there were LESS celebritys back then and each one really seemed bigger
Eddie Murphy owned America in the late 80s and literally could go anywhere- Kevin Hart really i sstill known as a "black comedian" Murphy broke past that
did he have his own signature shoe thoStature's not close. Eddie was on another level. He had multiple lanes and he succeeded in all of them. Kevin filled an arena on his comedy thing, that's commendable.
Eddie filled movie theaters, arenas, had a record that went platinum, he had TV with Saturday Night Live
Name a classic film starring Kevin hart
He wasn't the starSoul Plane but that's about it
