Move him to power forward, or maybe a facilitating small forward, with orders to not leave the paint.

- I put the blame on philly for simmons not improving.
- if he never cared that much about getting better or winning a title. Giving him 40 mil per year before hes proven that he will get better was :gucci:
- plus philly couldve traded him last season and got a legit superstar/ or a bunch of star players.
- they might be lucky to get alonzo ball in a sign and trade at this point :hhh:
- if i was embid i would be pissed. They got him playing on a torn meniscus possibly affecting his future. And now hes gotta rely on seth curry to help carry the team :pachaha:

Definitely not a bust but definitely not a star player you can build a team around. Cause even if you build around him it's going to kill the team in crunch time because he can't be the main facilitator due to his free throw issues. He's a high a star role player like a Draymond where you better have some great firepower around him to properly utilize him. Having him in a pick and roll offense with a star guard like a Dame or Steph that warrants traps would make Simmons deadly. Philly just doesn't have that star guard to really open the floor up for Simmons.

The Simmons thing is even more tough because he's too young, and his talents too great, for The League to give up on, but where exactly would he fit? The stories have been out for years that he's not as committed to basketball as you'd like, and he was coddled and allowed to make his own rules in Philly, so there's a hard task for any team who can convince him of who he is realistically as a player...

I think we're reaching a fork in the road with him, if he becomes more willing to be coached and adaptable his best game is in front of him. He's never gonna be a superstar so can that, but with the right management who can spur an attitude and philosophical change to his game, he can be a league average scorer and excek even more in what he does well without the expectation of building around him...

Again though, I'm not sure Ben acknowledges that he is just a role player, so I dont think its a simple fix....

all facts

its clearly a mentality thing about him where he doesnt want to put the work in to be who he can be

its a testament to his talent that hes been able to coast the way he has with zero improvement to his game, but on the flipside his team will never be able to make that leap if he isn't willing

i think the reason the sixers have been so lenient with him is if he does fill in those few holes in his game he's in the top rungs of the league, but i dont think they expected his just utter refusal to do that and it might just be settling in for them

if last night isnt the kick in the ass he needs to get in the lab its a dub for his reputation around the league, but if im a suit for the sixers i dont even want to keep him long enough to see

5 years from now he will be the same player, if we are still alive brehs I'm sure in 2026 ben simmons will be avg 14-16ppg 6-8 assists, 6-8 boards and only having a offensive game in the perimter

I mean we've seen big men like brook lopez totally change their game adding another dimension, is simmons that lazy to even expand?

Dude could easily spend the summer with a shooting coach shooting like 500 threes a game to just add that dimension to his game but nah
