"Bust" is kinda strong, true busts aren't 3x All-Stars or in running for DPOY...

That said, he was overdrafted and many people, not just the Sixers, overestimated his potential...

He's probably not gonna magically morph into a good shooter, so what you need is a team an coaching philosophy who refuses to build around him as a centerpiece. He's a complementary piece, he's a role player, he's not good enough to be the 2nd best player on a champion and he probably doesn't realize this yet, so he needs management who can keep it real with him or he's gonna have a hard fall from grace in this league...

His days in Philly should be numbered though...

The Simmons thing is even more tough because he's too young, and his talents too great, for The League to give up on, but where exactly would he fit? The stories have been out for years that he's not as committed to basketball as you'd like, and he was coddled and allowed to make his own rules in Philly, so there's a hard task for any team who can convince him of who he is realistically as a player...

I think we're reaching a fork in the road with him, if he becomes more willing to be coached and adaptable his best game is in front of him. He's never gonna be a superstar so can that, but with the right management who can spur an attitude and philosophical change to his game, he can be a league average scorer and excek even more in what he does well without the expectation of building around him...

Again though, I'm not sure Ben acknowledges that he is just a role player, so I dont think its a simple fix....

No. Ben with a halfway decent offensive game = top 3 player in the sport. Without it doesn't = bust. It makes it harder to build around him yeah, but it is crazy that y'all would trade everything he's good at for a jumper.
