A bust is someone like Anthony Bennett that's out of the league within a few years. A bust is someone that's a bench player a few years into their career. People act like everything is star/bust with no in between online. No he didn't live up to his hype but he's still made multiple all star teams. In no way is that a bust.

In many ways, he's way worse than those guys. With those type of guys, you know they are bad and you cut bait and write it off as a loss. Ben is owed an average of 38 million dollars a year for the next four years and they can't even play this guy down the stretch of tight games.

For Philly I'd say yes considering they ended up trading him for not a great return due to his value dropping so dramatically due to all the issues he was having. I'm not giving up on his career as a whole and he still has time to turn it around and show his value.

Nah, not a bust - he's at least above average to very good in too many other categories/attributes. But the shooting is so in his own head now that you wonder if it could drag those better parts of his game down.

He might be even more psyched out than Fultz was, given his outright reluctance/refusal to shoot from > 5 ft. And at least in Markelle's case, there was a medical factor.

Getting traded to the Rockets would have been the best thing for Simmons. No pressure on a lottery team. Getting his numbers with Christian Wood spacing the floor or rolling to the rim.

All of those years suffering during "The Process", Philly fans wanted a superstar with their number 1 pick. I just don't think Ben Simmons will ever reach that level.

rockets were not dumb enough to trade for ben their GM and owner know off the jump ben would set their team back...

Anthony Bennett was out of the NBA in three years.

Joe Alexander was out of the NBA in two years.

Hasheem Thabeet probably played 200 minutes of NBA ball.

Ben Simmons is a multiple-time All-Star and All-Defense team player. Just because he didn't live up to the hype around him in high school, doesn't mean he is a bust.

Disappointment somewhat, bust no. This guy has been to All star games and All nba and all defense teams. He is definitively not a bust but he should be traded as he's not a winning player in the playoffs.

Adam Morrison is a regular bust. Greg Oden is a medical bust. Thabeet, Thomas Robinson, Bagley etc... Simmons career is leaps and bounds better than either of them.

His defence is already overrated as it is, for him to be a top 3 player with a decent offensive game then His defence would have to be Kevin garnett tier which it isn't by a fukking long shot.
