As with all rookies, no matter how hyped, I wait until at least their third year to come to any sort of conclusion about how their career will play out - especially 18-19 year old ones. To me, this is the only rational conclusion for someone who has been watching the NBA for a good amount of time yet there's always this "rush to call a bust" mentality. Many players don't blossom until years later, some come in and are good right away, some have a fluke year and then go downhill from there.
Wemby has shown flashes that he can become great but he's, 19, saddled with a bad team, and what is suspected to be stealth tanking by Pop. There's simply no way to call how his career will go at this point, but the early signs point to being very good to great.
