League is really trying to market him for obvious reasons (clean image, little to no fukkery and international relatability)

It’s gonna be interesting how the fans continue to react to this.

  • Steve Nash (Phx)
  • Dirk (Dallas)
  • Ginobli (SA)
  • Giannis (Mil)
  • Embiid (Phi)
Regular Season MVPs, Finals MVPs and 6 MOY awards. And some of the top selling jerseys in the league.

Almost anybody is marketable with the right push and storyline.
Durk and Nash were from different eras. Nash was from Canada. No one stanned Durk or cared for him on that level

No one care about Giannis, Embiid went to college here so that helps his brand

I wish he took less threes but he's on the right trajectory. He's lost a little bit of that new car smell so now we're just waiting on the Spurs to get better and be in the mix. Being a good player on a bad team can only hold interest for so long.

- His team is bad
- His team is the Spurs… without Pop right now (not a market that casuals like)
- A lot of threes versus highlight plays (dunks, blocks)
- In terms of marketing - he seems really French from a personality perspective. Not sure the league or marketing people really know to market that to Americans

When he is dominant player on a dominant team, he will attract more broad attention. But overall the NBA needs to learn how to market Europeans (especially black Europeans, which there will be many more of) and quickly
