I'm from New York, and it doesn't matter whether I live in England or not, because I'm referring to their intercultural disposition worldwide. And I have good size amount of friends and family from both the U.K. and Africa. It's very clear to see that their perspective isn't preoccupied with skin color being seen as a disadvantage the way it is for many black Americans.

The black American mindset is dysfunctional, however it's the only one which has prevailed after centuries of compulsory ignorance and marginalization, that I can say. But the reason these blacks from other countries do well and can seamlessly insert themselves into other cultures and countries is because they have a sense of pride black Americans simply do not, which is cultural and heritage pride.

You can't compare 50 year diaspora blacks to 500 year slave descendants.
You are basically comparing oppressed westerners with a chip on their shoulder (rightfully so)
to opportunistic immigrants without any context ...

Stop it.

I've lived and have businesses/citizenship in the U.K. and U.S.
and also have some african heritage too

These diaspora blacks you hold with such high regard are fleeing their own nations
for better opportunities because their leaders are corrupt puppets under the IMFs thumb

Either way wealthy cacs are still keeping the status quo :pharrell:

bruh no need to pull that card, just a harmless question about acting talent :beli:

with that said, i think idris could play alonzo in training day, not sure denzel (nor brad pitt) could play a convincing african warlord :manny:
The nikka probably has pure African roots close in his ancestry...plus their are TONS of Africans in England to gleen from...just sayin:yeshrug:

Yall nikkas tripping. Idris himself will tell you he aint on Denzel level. I like Idris, but he will forever be known as Stringer Bell. That is what brought him onto the scene. How was Idris range in Daddy's Girls......:mjlol:

I always wondered how hard it would be to get a West African accent if I wasn't born there. :whew:

Learning an American accent was hard brehs. It's perfectly indistinguishable now, but when I was young... if I got mad my american accent would vanish and that pigeon would set in heavy :damn:

I would actually like to Denzel take up a role like that. I think he could make it work:manny:

Denzel can do anything. He is one of the few actors that can carry a shyt script. There are only a few actors that can get with Denzel. Daniel Day Lewis is probably the only cat id say is as good or better.

They're too different to compare

They are both the top acting generational talents of their era.
Denzel was la law to idris as stringer bell's wire as legendary one of a kind tv talents.
Mostly all of their parts are synomous to the time and draw for the movies they appear and if we interchanged them in a time machine at their respective ages.
They could have played each others roles.
If they had similar roles that are directly related ti each others past projects.

Denzel came up in a more reality based time for movies's top draw.
So, he did action stuff like richochet to that time machine cop movies.
To serious roles like glory to X.
Incomparison to idris who came up in a fukkery thriller role meets public historic figure meets fantasy urban Sci fi star.
If we take roles like ghost rider to Thor and include Prometheus.
Amoung his portrayal as a African war lord to nelson Mandela.

So, I think we could have interchanged them in a time machine and I think denzel could have played any part as a younger self.
That idris gets to play now because of a change in the sign of the times.

When, you go to the movies.,....

When either of them show up on a big screen.
I wish I could get the cat calls.
The females all make hilariously loud in the movie theatre.
when they show up on screen all in the movie.

If you hate on denzel and idris yousa fukk boi hater.

Jeffrey wright is just as great an actor as these two.
It is just denzel and idris are the exact visage of the black man like rakim and Kane.
So, Jeffrey wright just does not get the same draw.
Yet, wright is just as incredible a talent on screen in any role.

An underrated unheralded unnoticed black actor who is very good but gets passed over because of some skin complexion issues is:
Dorrian missick

He should get more roles, but I think he is limited by Hollywood for conditions/variables out of his control.

fukk no. No where as good as actor as Denzel. Don Cheadle comes close to Denzel though.

Don Cheadle, is not drawing like denzel or idris, breh.
No theatre of women black or of any color is shutting it down when don comes on screen, breh.
Don is incredible..
Yet, it took a lot longer for don to permeate and we have to process that into this comparison.
Idris was immediately like this nikka is the new denzel, from this gen's la law on the wire.
When Cheadle shows up in colors.
Nobody is like this nikka is gonna be denzel on la law, good.
We have to take that into account.
In this comparison of Cheadle to idris and denzel.
Don is basically a ramped up journeyman guy as an actor.
While idris is every much a better earlier accomplished journeyman than don, too.
Don ramped to become the truth, tho.

SOHH ICEY MONOPOLY
I love Idris Elba but lets chill with the Denzel hate, dude is like the Jay-Z of Black Hollywood, maybe even Hollywood period cuz he draws numbers across all spectrums, plus he gave us Glory, Malcolm X, The Hurricane, Pelican Brief, Training Day, Man On Fire, Equalizer, Antwon Fisher all that shyt so stop it. Idris is my guy tho and if he keeps it up he eventually will get a star on the walk of fame and/or an Oscar himself God willing

couple thoughts:

- no, he's not....people really sleep/underrate denzel's skills...the dude is a monster and one of the best to ever do it....the fact he just makes that shyt look so easy/effortless, people miss/disregard the skill, and go with the 'he plays the same role' hating bullshyt....seriously, the dude does theater with the best of them....if he couldnt act, that wouldnt be the case....

- with that said, idris is damn good and has a chance to be this generation's 'denzel' type lead black actor....by that i mean becoming bankable and known as one of the best in hollywood at this time, no matter the role/movie.....that's why i really hope he gets the bond role...think he'd kill it and it'd really show his skills...

- hope they do another movie together....this time with them interacting more than they did in american gangster...think we would get some great acting from the 2 of them feeding off each other...the younger, future legend wanting to hold his own/show & prove with the older legend; while the older legend wants to show he still got it while holding his own with the younger, future legend...it'd be great....

- since we speaking of cats potentially being a 'denzel' type in hollywood, that brotha michael b jordan might have next....if he shows he can carry creed, oh my damn....the sky is the limit....
