I just recently read a dope article about how the industry has already filled its racial quotas on primetime lead black male actors by the 2000's and Idris came in a little too late to catch the door before it closed. Disappointing but he still got plenty of time. Luther, The Wire and Beast of No Nation tho

i'm 34 years old, i've seen just about every Denzel Washington flick, even For Queen and Country

but I just saw Beasts of No Nation and damn

I don't think Denzel could pull this off, Idris effortlessly blends in with these people like it's nothing, you almost forget he is an A-list hollywood actor

The only real knock that could be made on Denzel, is hes had a lot of roles playing some sort of man in service or cop. Otherwise, I think their both talented and really arent compairable.

When it comes to the actual skill or talent of acting. Idris is not really on Denzel's level.

But he has been apart of great product, there is no denying that. I just watched that Netflix movie a few weeks ago and it was fantastic.

Accent might have been shaky (especially cry freedom/diction in much ado) but you can never knock his "acting". Idris is still yet to have that career defining performance on film and has been living off stringer bell for dear life. Surprised this thread is actually a serious debate. Ppl say denzel plays the same roles but in those roles you will see many facets of that character cuz denzel can emote like a mother........ Idris (like many actors today) might play varying parts but are they memorable, do they stay with you? Dude has like 2 facial express, if he ain't squinting then he just looks exasperated, mediocre actor
