The Rose stanning on here is crazy:hhh:

It’s the BASKETBALL hall of fame not the nba hall of fame. Yao gets in because of his international career, Mullin is in because of what he did at St Johns, putting up numbers as part of run TMC and the fact that he was in a weak class. And put some respek on Benard Kings name. He was one of the best scorers of the 80’s. Rose has had 3 good years in his career

If he had stayed healthy Rose would be first ballet but unfortunately injuries robbed him of his career

I LOVED MVP Rose but his prime was way too short due to injuries robbing him.

He'll be the first MVP to never get inducted into the HOF.

He'll be in the Bulls' HOF though.:yeshrug:

It really doesn’t. As I said, longevity counts for something. You’re judged by your body of work, not just one year. If all eight of those seasons were HOF worthy, maybe there’s an argument, but overall it just doesn’t add up.

He has HOF numbers statistically. He has a lot of accolades being the youngest MVP ever is one of them.

Gail Goodrich made the HOF based off of one All NBA team and he made it. Why can't Rose? He accompmished way more within those 8 seasons. Rose accolades outweigh his.

His college resume should definitely get him in. Led Memphis to the most wins in NCAA history (a 38-2 record), their first number one ranking in 25 years, and an appearance in the NCAA Championship game. He was the best player on his teams when he was healthy.

It's the basketball Hof not the NBA Hof

With the talk of Rose retiring...I feel like we have to address it.:jbhmm:

Does he make the Hall?:jbhmm:

I can't realistically say yes...:francis:

Yao got in...but wasn't that for his international play?:patrice:

Who is the worst player in the Hall...is Rose better than him?:patrice:

Discuss.

He falls into the Grant Hill and Anfernee Hardaway category....he only had 4 good years, i don't think 4 years gets you in. JMO

No he didn't. Goodrich did it over a longer period of time and had a much more storied career in college than Rose did (Goodrich was the all-time leading scorer at UCLA when he left).

His college resume should definitely get him in. Led Memphis to the most wins in NCAA history (a 38-2 record), their first number one ranking in 25 years, and an appearance in the NCAA Championship game. He was the best player on his teams when he was healthy.

The top All-American on that team was NOT Rose though. It was Chris Douglas-Roberts who got first team. Be that as it may, as far the NCAA is concerned, that game never happened because Memphis vacated that run.

That's incredible:ohhh:

I remember when he first blew up and everybody was making fun of his interviews...time flies:francis:

But Yao got in...and that's why I think he has an outside shot:patrice:

He would be the first MVP not to get in:patrice:

Yao got in cuz of what he represented internationally plus 7 years of top play as a Center... Derrick only had 4 at that's a stretch , it's closer to 2 if you take out his rookie year and the season he only played 30 something games. Not sure how he gets in for a solid rookie yera, 2 great years, 1 "what could have been season" and the rest injury plagued season.

Yao didn’t have 7 years of top play as a center. Everyone knows he didn’t really deserve to be an all star in each of those 7 seasons. He didn’t average 20ppg or 10rpg until his 4th season.

100% facts.
Reading the comments I amazed at how in the moment these posters are.
Yes I'ma huge d rose fan but his career simply didn't stack up to be a hall of famer. Apart from those 2-3 years he has had bad luck. I really do feel for him.
