Whatever you think of Kevin Hart (I personally think he peaked with his first special 'I'm a Grown Little Man') he's probably the biggest comedian right now who transcends race, social status etc. He makes everybody laugh.
That's one of the things that fukks with me the most about Patrice O'Neal. black comics didn't really mess with him because he had the nerve to hang out and do shows with/for people who didn't look like him (and it's not a coincidence that the top black comedian we have now in Hart joined their clique when he was starting out - Norton, Quinn, Burr, DiPaolo, Robinson)
As a black guy I feel ashamed when I look at the majority of black comics today. They tell a joke and you're not sure whether you've heard the joke before (from them or someone else) because all n!ggas do is talk about the same shyt. And then tell the same jokes for YEARS.
Then when you're a fan of 'white' comedy n!ggas look at you funny. If I said Bill Burr > than ANY black comedian right now bar Chappelle (and right now that's based on his body of work not his activeness) n!ggas would clown but black comedians aren't pushing themselves.
I've slowly come to the realisation that black people are funnier than white people in general, but white people at least NOW, are better stand-up's. Not all, but at the level where it counts.
