To me personally a GOOD COMIC doesn't have to be able to have a diversity of crowds to rock....

as long as he FUNNY to me...then who gives a fukk :manny:

ROBIN HARRIS was an example of that...he ONLY got booked for black shows and only got roles in black movies i.e (do the right thing, mo betta blues, harlem nights)

i even read a comment on Amazon.com in regards to his comedy album that "Robin Harris material is TOO BLACK"...

:comeon:

so that shows you that thier is a NICHE audience for every comedian......

but that doesn't make them any less talented..cause ROBIN HARRIS never really got the exposure that he was deserving of

yet real talk CHRIS ROCK even knows that dude was a GREAT COMEDIAN....

A lot of great comedians can only cater to one crowd. No way would Jerry Seinfeld be able to move a black dominated audience. But on the other hand someone like the late George Carlin would be able to. Just like Eddie Murphy can move a black or white crowd, i don't think a Paul Mooney can.
Believe it or not, I've been to 2 Mooney shows, and it was an overwhelming majority white audience.

Kevin on Leno. White people are laughing but I'm sure they are being polite. They're really thinking :mindblown: what is this Negro man talking about? Right Chris Rock (though Kevin ain't that funny to me personally)?

LOL @ political commentary. All that dude did was shyt on religion and use his "white guilt" as a tool to get laughs....every standup routine he'd say the same shyt over and over again. The only people who would really find Carlin funny are people who share his worldview, I don't see why he should get props for that. A comedian should be funny regardless of who his audience is...I don't need a comedian to preach to me for an hour and a half :rudy:

SOUNDS LIKE YOU WERE OFFENDED, BROTHER! WHICH MEANS YOU'RE THE EXACT TYPE OF TIGHT ASS CORNBALL NON-THINKING fakkit CARLIN WAS MAKING FUN OF, DUDE! :youngsabo:

You don't know what you're talking about clearly. Dude has an entire lifetime of work, not just one or two specials focused on religion. I'll agree that his last special before he died focused mainly on the farce that is organized religion, and wasn't really funny. But that's hardly the only thing he talked about during his career. Carlin is LEGENDARY, mentioned along side of greats like Pryor, and was funny to a wide range of people. You've made up your mind on him based on one routine when he's done so much more.

IT'S NOT REALLY SENSIBLE TO COMPARE TODAY'S CROP OF COMICS, WITH TODAY'S ALMOST TOTALLY OPEN FREE SPEECH WORLD ENABLED BY THE INTERNET, TO THE OLD COMICS WHO RISKED THEIR CAREERS JUST TO SLIP THE WORD "DAMN" INTO A CARSON SET, BROTHER!

IRONICALLY, INCREASED FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND TOLERANCE FOR VULGARITY HAS MADE THE MARKET TOO SATURATED FOR COMICS TO STAND OUT AS GREATS, DUDE! IF YOU GET A SITCOM, YOU'RE SUCCESSFUL! BUT YOU WON'T SEE THESE GUYS INFLUENCING POP CULTURE OR CHALLENGING SOCIETAL NORMS, MEAN GENE!

:ooh: Hogan bodies another one :wow:

Its a reason why Kevin Hart stay on Leno, Conan and all those other shows.

Dude does family jokes, and short jokes. I gotta disagree with Rock, unless he just forgot to mention Kevin
