You're making my nikka fred look like a composed, unbiased viewer of the show. Calm down.

I have BB as my 4th best show ever, but I can easily see why it would be hard to get into it. If you're into character progression and development, Walt and, to a lesser extent, Jesse are the only characters that you'll see evolve over the course of the series. Everyone else comes off as accessories to their character arcs. Some of those accessories are cooler and more likable than others, but they're just accessories. Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul are great actors so they're able to carry the show, but after Gus and Saul the acting takes a nosedive. The appeal and greatness of the show, besides Cranston's performance, is in the roller coaster ride they take the viewer on throughout the seasons. It's action packed and has an unpredictable plot. But it's not like this show is making you think or is deep in anyway. It works off of the viewers tension and anticipation.

I gotta disagree with a couple things. Skylar and Hank both have good character arcs, and evolve over the course of the series.

I agree with the OP.

Personally I just couldn't get into it so I stopped watching. Believe me I tried, especially the way most people have been raving about it, but meh. I switched off and started rewatching Oz. :yeshrug:

i'm about 6-7 eps into season 2 and it's just been alright to me so far.

the drugs shyt is generally fun to watch and anything to do with the family is boring as fukk.

there are zero likable characters on the show. walt is a strange combination of dikkhead and p*ssy. jesse sits there talking mad shyt but in the end will always do what walt tells him to do.

i don't really give a shyt about character progression because i can't stand the characters.

:pachaha:

you havent been introduced to the Chicken Brother yet or Saul

I thought you been up on "Breaking Bad" breh. I would've mentioned that a while back, to check out.

If you liked the first 2 eps you're gonna love the show. Walt's transformation from a weak nerd into a murderous villain is :whoo:

Fred.

nah homie. I don't know wtf I was thinking. I'll make sure I run it by you next time for some dope shyt. from horror to shows you never steer me wrong. looool

Me too i was watching but gave up after season 2. I have no interest in watching it either.

I cant miss walking dead tho :smugdraper:

Breaking bad is just too whacky and unbelieveable for me to actually care. I know no matter what the main characters do. They will always get away and never be caught or killed until the very end of the show. Dudes got tons of bodies on them and do all kinds of crazy shyt but they always get away with it. :stopitslime:

Its just to fairy tale like for me. I need a show like the wire or walking dead, where main characters get murked and go down just cause thats how it goes.

I be watching breaking bad like :aicmon: "o so he survied when he blew up that drug lords building with that phosphours bomb shyt with no damage at all" " o the assassins were in his room waiting on the bed, but they got called off at the last second" "o they killed like 20 people but cops got no leads at all"

so many more to write down. Show is just too unbelieveable to me. I cant take it serious

:what:

"The Wire" and "Walking Dead" have 10x as many characters as "Breaking Bad", of course they can randomly kill people off. And saying "we know Walt and Jesse ain't gonna die" is like saying "we know Rick ain't gonna die" on "Walking Dead".

There is one Walt. One Jesse. One Saul. One Hank. One Skylar. This ain't like "The Wire" where Wallace dies in season 1, then season 2 introduces 10 new characters....or Frank Sobotka dies in season 2, and season 3 introduces 10 new characters, and none of the new characters have anything to do with anyone that died.

The element that's missing in this reasoning is not that any particular character needs to die or not die. It's the fact that these characters are repeatedly placed in life or death situations where the audience should know that they will not be killed. Now even then, this should only matter if you are looking to BB for realism, which many do. Nobody cares about how many times Jack Baur is put into life & death situations, because nobody is watching that show for realism. Just like nobody is complaining about Don Draper getting killed off, because he's never in situations that would really put his life in peril.

Now that only begs the question, folks probably shouldn't be watching for realism. You'd enjoy the show alot more if you approached it that way.

The show definitely ain't realistic. I can't even argue that, no one can. But it's constantly compared to "The Wire" as far as how often they kill off characters. This ain't the first time. And logistically, it would be impossible to kill off "BB" characters at the same rate as "Wire" characters. "The Wire" introduces more characters in any given season than exist in the entire run of "BB".

The confusion from fans is really about the presentation of the show. While the premise & alot of the storylines played out aren't realistic. The way the show is paced & presented gives it that feel of realism. Also any 1 incident in itself isn't necessarily unrealistic or impossible, its just when you consider the whole all of the improbable things that happen all together is where the realism is lost.
